COBS Bread — Restaurant in Guelph

I've been a customer at Cobs Bread for a while now, and I really enjoy their products. The pastries, bread, and other baked goods are always fresh and delicious. The store has a charming atmosphere, and most of the staff are friendly and helpful.

However, I recently had an experience that left me a bit disappointed. On my last visit, I purchased some items, and my total was $12.35. I paid with a $100 bill and offered an additional $2.35 in coins to make it easier for the cashier. Robin, the cashier, agreed, but when she gave me my change, I realized later in my car that it wasn't correct. The receipt also didn't reflect the extra $2.35 I had given her.

When I went back to address the issue, Robin returned $2 to me but insisted that she had already given me more change than necessary, so she wasn't short by $0.35. Her attitude throughout the interaction was a bit off-putting, and she didn't thank me either time I left the store.

While I understand that mistakes can happen, the way they are handled is crucial. Proper customer service is just as important as the quality of the products. I hope that the store can improve in this area, as I'd love to continue supporting them and enjoying their wonderful baked goods.

Legally, my receipt only showed that I had given $100, so there was no track of the additional money I had given her. I recall providing Robin with the extra $2.35, but unfortunately, this was not reflected in my receipt. I understand now that it's best to stick with the exact payment to avoid any confusion or discrepancies...

A little under a month ago, I had the absolute privilege of visiting this cobs location. It was a nippy fall day and snow blowed in the air as I pulled into the nicely kept parking lot. A free space directly in front of the door called my name and comfortable parked within a reasonably sized space. Goosebumps scattered across my skin as I walked swiftly to the door, which was freshly sanitized surrounded by the clearest glass windows I've ever spotted. My goosebumps quickly retracted as soon as my feet met the beautiful bakery floor. It was the most comfortable temperature I could have asked for. Within seconds, my nostrils filled with wonderful scents of sour dough loaves and delicious baked goods. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the sensation. Opening my eyes I looked around the storefront in awe. From the smiles of the employees to the icing on the blueberry scones- everything was shining. You could see the bakery behind the counter and watch happy workers baking delightful sweets and breads. Each employee moved with precision and grace. I was greeted by the sweetest cashier, Raquel. She spoke kindly and offered suggestions concerning the product. She was well equipped, full of knowledge about their goods. I got a divine scone and a warm loaf of sourdough. Today, I had the pleasure of visiting COBS Bread for the first time, and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to this bakery. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Sofia, who immediately made me feel welcome with her warm smile and friendly demeanor.

As a first-time visitor, I wasn’t entirely sure what to try, but Sofia’s knowledge of the products and her genuine enthusiasm made the decision easy. She patiently explained the different scones (which is why I came in). I ended up trying her suggestion, and it was absolutely delicious!

What really stood out to me was Sofia’s customer service. She took the time to ensure I had a great experience, answering all my questions with a kind and helpful attitude. It’s rare to find someone who is not only good at their job but also genuinely cares about their customers, and Sofia exemplifies that perfectly.
