Pita Land Shawarma - Guelph — Restaurant in Guelph

I went for lunch on a Monday afternoon at around 3 PM, when i went in the shop, there was no one, and the staff came to service after quite some time, I’m originally from Dubai and an avid shawarma lover, i was eager to try out their chicken shawarma since my friend had suggested that in their Toronto branches, their shawarmas are really similar to the ones back home and taste very authentic.

But i was heavily disappointed when the staff (Akash) seemed quite unaware of what a shawarma was to start with, i ordered a Chicken Shawarma Plate and there was no chicken on the döner machine that was a red flag and i should’ve left the shop immediately, he took chicken out of a dish and tossed it on a griddle and started heating it (i didn’t know if i was getting a sub sandwich or a shawarma at this point)

When i got the shawarma, there was no balance in flavor, the garlic sauce tasted off, rubbery chicken and the fries was cold to touch, since he gave me old fries from a dish and did not fry them fresh for me.

I was really disappointed, a waste of 17 dollars, never coming back to this place again, please train your staff to be more proactive and communicative, because he couldn’t actually understand half the thing i was saying.

After eating at this fine establishment i have nothing but positive thoughts. The service was great, the cashier was friendly and talked with a clear voice. The gentalmen preparing my food went slow enough for me to customize the meal to my liking. The overall feel of the place is cozy and modern with beautiful decor arranged around the resturant. Dont get me started on the food. The meat is cooked to perfection and comes out hot and steamy. I got potatoes on the side and you can really taste how fresh they are. We went there around 12pm. There was only one person working and it seemed to be busy. The person working informed us that he was currently working on online orders and previous in-house customer orders. We didn't mind waiting and placed our order. The food was satisfying and tasty.

Shout out to the young man who was working. He was polite, professional and he seems to have a great work ethic. To the owner, maybe there should be two staff members working. So when it's busy, there isn't a delay in service. 5 stars for the polite and...
