Not sure what has changed recently, but it certainly feels that things have changed. Everything felt off kilter when the lady that typically served us looked very stressed and was bussing instead of waiting on tables, usually she is as bubbly and smiley as I am.
However from what I could tell our server was tasked with what looked like two peoples worth of work and a head office/safety rep touching and inspecting every check list item bare handed (like removing l the fountain drink nozzles and replacing them immediately). My biggest complaint is she had absolutely zero hustle or concern in the way she approached the multitasking she needed to be doing.
I noted two seperate trays of food waiting in the window/expo for 10-15 minutes. After seeing my meal sit between these other expiring meals for about five minutes, I made sure to flag down the waitress. I finally got my meal after it was passed repeatedly, along side the 15 minute old pancakes.
Then the Gordon delivery driver just walks right up to the drink fountain with his personal cup to help himself to a drink. I know how dirty my hands get offloading/operating a city truck and I know how truckers can be. I sure hope everything and everyone was clean before touching the fountain and ice scoop that the safety guy was diddling.
Lastly, if you have to raise your voice to speak over the happy birthday singing robot (with cp24 and the radio also audible in the background), maybe consider muting it or dialing it down? Last time our server (the lady bussing) had it set to what I assume was a 2/10 and was reading the room and table much better. Thank you.
Today we cut our visit off early (or late depending if you add up all the waiting) instead of enjoying our meal. This is gonna be the last...
Read moreI had such a great experience at Denny’s thanks to our server, Priya. From the moment I walked in, she set the tone with a genuine smile and a friendly welcome. She got us settled quickly, brought water and coffee right away, and somehow managed to be both attentive and unintrusive for the entire meal—checking in at the perfect moments without ever making us feel rushed.
Priya knew the menu inside and out and gave thoughtful suggestions based on what we were in the mood for. She offered to customize a couple of small things without us even asking (little details like swapping sides, checking on sauces, and clarifying how we wanted our eggs), and everything came out exactly right. Our drinks were always topped up before we needed to ask, and she kept an eye on our table so we never had to flag anyone down.
What really stood out was her calm, upbeat energy even while the restaurant was busy. She juggled multiple tables with ease, remembered details from earlier in our conversation, and made us feel like guests rather than just another order. Plates were cleared promptly, she brought extra napkins and condiments proactively, and she checked back shortly after the food arrived to make sure everything tasted great. When we had leftovers, she offered boxes and neatly packed things up so nothing leaked.
It’s rare to find service that feels this thoughtful and consistent. Priya delivered that “little extra” that turns a casual meal into a memorable one—professional, kind, and clearly proud of her work. Management: please recognize Priya for her excellent service. We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll be asking for...
Read moreStarted our experience kinda bad. Waitress brought us to our table, and just walked away. Didn't bother to ask if we needed a booster seat or high chair for my daughter. I had to go up to the counter to ask for one. Not a great start. Ordered our drinks, got them fairly quickly. Husband wanted to order another drink, and tried to call the waitress over several times to order it, and she kept ignoring us. He ended up asking a different waitress for the drink. Food came, and my daughter's pancakes were nearing BLACK! they were literally hard and crunchy to touch! Like seriously, how can you send off food like that, especially to a child?! My husband immediately asked the waitress for them to be remade. Like seriously, would you eat burnt pancakes? No? How can you expect a 3 year old to?! So new ones came out, like 10 minutes later. Mine were also quite dark, but edible. We finish eating, and are quite clearly done eating. Were sitting there staring off into space, waiting for the waitress to come ask if we want the bill. She's tending to others around, asking if they need anything, how's everything... but blantly ignoring us, who are clearly done eating. She goes to the table across from us, who are still eating, and ask if they want the bill. Like seriously, here we are, DONE eating, and you haven't bothered to ask us if we want the bill. We sat around waiting at least 20 minutes plus, until she finally came over to ask if we want the bill and take out containers.
For how expensive our meals were, the food quality and service really did not meet our...
