I would rate Zero if there is zero rating. If you are looking for Authentic Indian food, go somewhere else! The reviews is super misleading. Went here for dinner around 8pm thinking we are getting Authentic Indian food. Ordered Rogan josh and tandoori chicken and waited for 30 minutes. When our food came, it looked wrong but boy did it ever tasted wrong too. Because we were so hungry, we decided to just eat it rather than return it and wait for another 30 minutes. We did call the manager to ask why there was not a single spice in the food. With spicy, i don’t mean hot but the flavour you get from different Indian spices which we were expecting because after all, they said they serve ‘Authentic Indian Food’. We talked to the manager and complained. The manager just said “It’s roasted cashew based so there won’t be a lot of flavour in it.” And the worst one is “You should have ordered authentic rogan josh and Tandoori” Wtf?! That’s what we thought we were getting!!!! Manager doesn’t accept criticism and was so rude. I felt so ripped off! I recorded our whole conversation and its just extremely disappointing! Worst Indian Restaurant ever!

In reply to DIWA: Please lookup the recipe for lamb roganjosh. Also, we recorded the interaction after it started getting ridiculous and if you would like we could share that with you. We were not rude nor were we looking to get a free meal. I was simply too hungry to wait on a new meal had missed lunch and it was around 8:30 when we got our food. I told our waitress about it but decided to tolerate the off tasting food and continue. Do you think we would write a review if we were trying to freeload a meal!? Really!? I’m upset about being defrauded by a restaurant claiming to make traditional cuisine and serving cheaply made tasteless dishes that arent even what we ordered. Lamb roganjosh doesnt have cashew paste! And yes, it has spices and ginger. Look it up and cal me wrong. #googlefactcheck #fraud

P.S. The Manager kept on telling us ( and we recorded this) that we should have asked the waitress for ‘Authentic’ roganjosh and ‘Authentic’ Tandoor Chicken. What do you mean by that? Shouldn’t all your dishes be...

I rate this place 1star because the curry lamb needs more spice and better taste. Certain foods taste good. We have went to a lot of Indian restaurant and the food was outstanding. The chairs was uncomfortable, my legs hurt and so was my guests. The arrangement of tables were odd and made it difficult to be excused without hitting the chairs behind you. The atmosphere needs to be more bright, no music 🎶 etc. The waitresses need to introduce themselves in a professional manner, i.e. Welcoming us and providing us with suggestions about the menu, which they did not do. One of the waitresses were not too friendly. This restaurant needs some TLC. This place need a lot of work, the waitress, the cook and the atmosphere. So sorry to say I will not go back to this place. I am sure there has to be a better Indian restaurant here in Guelph. I went to this restaurant because of the rating. But from now on I won't believe in the ratings. As it is not true, or accurate. We went there for dinner last night. It was a confusing layout as there is a convience store which is called "India Spice House" and then the actual restaurant is "Diwa Indian Cuisine" which made it hard to find as it was our first time at this plaza. There is a lot of restaurants out there, so be smart about how costumers are treated and ensure that their overall experience is memorable in order to bring them back. Unfortunately, Diwa Indian Cuisine did not do this for us. Some times you wonder why restaurants fail, but this...

Nov 27, 2024. Revising my review based on latest experience. You can access the situation yourself, for us it was not very good customer service, the person inside came very aggressively arrogant and not very polite way. They say timings are up to 9PM. it was Tuesday, we did not cook at home and thought to go and eat outside. It was 8.25PM, we were there at 8.05 and thought to pick up some items from their store behind thee restaurant. It took few minutes there. To make it short, when we went inside, the person look at me and said its closed. I knew she lied, at other times we have seen people eating past 9 as well. Nevertheless, we were there at 8.25, quite hungry, she did not have even a bit of care or curtsey that we are regular customers and often go there. Well, we stand there and look at her and thought in my mind how can some young people be so arrogant with no feelings yet they know us. Nevertheless, we may not go there again. We were in time as per their timings and yet we had to face such bhaviour. It seems we praised for them much that they changed suddenly. We had to come hungry from their place. People DO NOT get that food is such a thing that NO ONE should go hungry from door. Anyways.

P.S. my reviews/comments are for improvements. Owners/operators should...

I liked this restaurant up until I ordered the Lamb Madras today Dec 8 2023. It was anything BUT lamb, in fact it was GOAT ! Very disappointed to say the least ! Update: Thank you for your response. I respect the fact that you think the Goat was indeed Lamb, But, coming from someone who has consumed Goat and Lamb for my entire life and prepared it as well for all of my adult life, I think I can recognize the difference. Yes the food tasted good and we did not complain, that doesn't mean we didn't want to as we all felt the same about our respective "lamb" dishes. My colleagues expressed that they would feel embarrassed, so I refrained. As for the tip. I always tip well when the service is good, and those girls should not suffer for our discontent with the food, they were pleasant throughout the entire meal. My colleagues and I have been coming to Diwa for years as we work very close by and we don't intend to stop. We will just order something other than the Lamb/Goat dishes. Cheers ! Had Lunch Jan 3, 2024 : Chicken Korma and Garlic Naan ... EXCELLENT ! UPDATE : ordered take away today . Order was chicken Biryani , Shahi Paneer and two Naan . Instead of Shahi Paneer I got Dahl Makhni !!!! And paid for Shahi Paneer ! Not impressed . Disappointed.

thoroughly impressed. I ordered Bhindi Masala, Dal Makhani, and Methi Matar Paneer, along with a basket of naan and lachha paratha — and every dish was outstanding. Dal Makhani was rich, creamy, and full of flavor — you could tell it was slow-cooked with love. Bhindi Masala was perfectly spiced and not the least bit slimy, which is a sign of great technique. Methi Matar Paneer had a unique balance of creamy texture and the slight bitterness of fresh methi that paired beautifully with the sweetness of peas. The naan and lachha paratha were fresh, soft, and just the right amount of buttery. The service was friendly, and the food came out hot and fresh. Portion sizes were generous, and the flavors felt authentic and homemade. Highly recommended for anyone craving hearty and flavorful Indian cuisine!

We ordered catering from Diwa for a birthday and we were absolutely blown away by the care in service! We needed gluten free meals for family with celiac disease and Inderveer uncle was so kind and fully understood the requirements involved. We got Chicken Tikka Masala, jeera rice, and gajjer halwa. They took extra care to make sure everything was made gluten free but also packed separately as well! We also got samosas, aloo gobi and naan as well! Everyone was complimenting the samosas especially, saying they were amazingly crispy and some of the best they’ve had. Thanks to everyone at Diwa for making Indian cuisine accessible and delicious for the celiac community I highly recommend them!
