SAVE. YOUR. MONEY. MCDONALDS WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER CHOICE.
I placed an order around noon via Skip for a delivery time of 6-630. No issues with this- my skip driver had my order to nme on time- the restaurant gets no recognition for this.
I haven't had Manchu Wok since before Stone Road redid the food court (again)- and I was craving the noodles & honey garlic chicken. It was always a must-have .... 10 years ago. What you'll get now... is terrible. The photo is a DINNER FOR 4? Not even sure how I paid $85 for this.. it's absurd. Even with inflation, I get 2x this "dinner for 4" for under 70 from my usual place....and I only have to order a dinner for 3.
Food: Egg rolls- are NOT egg rolls, its mush inside a sour tasting barely fried dough. Took 1 bite. Trash. Noodles- mushy, not authentic at all, nothing like they used to be. No flavour. Beef&Broccoli- slimy, gritty, fatty meat that I could barely stomach. My kids would not even try it. Mixed vegetables- zero flavour, far from what I have ever experienced. Tasted as if they were cold previously, & then microwaved..just all mushed together with a very strange consistency.... Sweet&Sour Chicken balls-EW. Not only did we receive 8 tiny "chicken balls"- but they were basically a disgusting attempt at best. What you'd expect to see inside is tender chicken... but it had the texture of mashed potatoes. And the actual taste was so bland with hint of chicken. So. Gross. Honey garlic chicken was all stuck together , had to use a knife to cut through the outside on some pieces after I tried to chew a piece.... that literally cracked a tooth. It is way overcooked, majority was hard as a rock on the outside.
Absolutely terrible. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Save your money, and time going...
Read moreOn our second time going to this location, we were excited to introduce our extended family to this place as they had just moved to Guelph. We were expecting it to be very busy based on the first time we went there and we had a large order ($135ish before the discount) so we ordered online, well in advance. Unfortunately, our planning was a waste of time because when we went to pick up the order, it was not ready at all, and in fact, the staff could not even locate it. Then when they contacted the manager, they located the order but said the credit card had declined which is why it wasn’t ready (this was not true). After a few more minutes of trying to figure out what was going on, they changed the reason for the mix-up to the fact that the printer did not print the order slip. At the end of the day, someone at the establishment dropped the ball, big time. The pick-up was supposed to be for 6:15 pm, and we only got the food about 45 minutes later while waiting in the busy restaurant. The staff apologized and offered a couple of free egg rolls while we waited and while it’s appreciated, this whole ordeal delayed dinner for 7 people and just ruined the vibe for the family dinner we had planned.
Edited to add: Portion sizes were very small for the "Dinner for 6/8" combos. Better to order individual "Pick 2/3/4" meals for sure! The food didn't even hit the lids...
Read moreI LOVE manhcu wok - it is the most tasty and delicious food in the entire universe and this branch does an excellent job! HOWEVER the staff here make me very sad. How r u going to say "we stop serving combos at 8" after ive spent the whole day studying in hopes of eating machu wok for dinner as a reward (even though skip the dishes still lets you order combos). And another time, I came in so excited for some yummy manchu wok and they said "we close at 9:00" when google said they closed at 10 - absolutely soul crushing. And when I went there on a Friday at 10:15 pm and they said they were closed but google said otherwise. I just love manchu wok in their #1 fan but im leaning more towards Thaï express now because why have they lied about when they close/stop serving things on 3 different occasions now. I'm sure the owner would be so sad to hear that he's losing out on an hour of business everyday and paying staff for no reason because his they say they're closed when they're definitely not closed. Also, the chicken balls are unreal and the noodles are...
