I'm not quite sure how Rocky's has such a high rating, although I imagine the better ones are from Guelph-raised people who are incorporating their feelings of nostalgia into the rating. As a Guelphite, born and raised, I grew up going to Rocky's after fishing at the OR. I hadn't been there in about 30 years so I thought I'd go down memory lane and take my husband who has never been there. How embarrassing to talk this place up only to be highly disappointed. Two hot dogs (9" not footlongs), a chili dog, and a very small order of fries was $30! I can't imagine how busy this place would be if the food was actually good. It's got such a great history it could be a landmark. Instead of tasty and juicy hotdogs, they serve bendy/rubbery, tasteless and dry "meat" sticks that taste like they were boiled and left out to dry. I had to lift my bun to find the dog buried under the bun and the overkill of condiments. In my mind, I was expecting chip truck quality fries and ended up with a small bag of soggy, greasy, certainly frozen fries. The older man at the counter was less than reciprocal to my enthusiastic friendliness, seemed confused entering the total on the debit machine, and had enough dirt under his nails he could grow his own potatoes. Overall, a very disappointing visit to a childhood favourite. The owners are definitely not interested in serving delicious food, but rather milking the...

Best smash burger in town. The patties are all beef, standard 4 oz size, nicely seasoned, buns are top quality, and condiments are great. Love the pickles especially, they are very thinly sliced. Really great vibe inside the little restaurant too. Rick even makes his own special condiments from time to time, like hot peppers, which are super good. Dogs were juicy and had a great flavour, and the buns were perfect. Onion rings and fries are delish. The staff will answer any questions you have about the food. I highly recommend this place for fast food that is not ultra-processed, while still being fairly priced given the cost of food these days. I got two cheeseburgers with double cheese + o rings on top for $13 after tax. Remember Burger's Priest, folks? Cost more than that for a single burger.

Rick is a kind and generous guy in my experience. They will customize your order to a T. Get a double patty if you want more meat. They kindly put onion rings on my burger though that's not an option listed on the menu.

I can't recommend this place enough, it's a gem. Wonderful staff and excellent classic fast food. Been here probably ten times in the last month. Gotta get all my Rocky's in before they shut for the winter. Really appreciate what they offer...

This is an unassuming little place that is a bit off the beaten path but it is an amazing place for what it is (and I give them 5 stars based on what they are, this is not a comparison to fine dining). They are kind of like a fixed-location food truck in terms of the food they serve, but it is very enjoyable and always leaves me satisfied. Their foot-long hotdogs are served in a European style with onion and tomatoes and are shockingly good for the price you're paying. The fries and onion rings are prepared as you order so everything is provided hot and tasty. Absolutely love dropping by Rocky's when they're open. Note that this is a small business, with no indoor seating so the better weather is great as they put out a good bit of patio seating outside, but they are occasionally closed if the family has a weekend away or whatever. Worth...

Serving hot dogs, burgers, and milkshakes since 1951, Rocky's is a thriving monument to the low brow eating establishment of simpler times. With an interior abounding in checkered tiles and James Dean posters, the joint exudes the sort of retro charm that is a tragic rarity in the area. The food is tasty, if a bit pricy, and the service fast and friendly. The hot dogs, while not actually foot long as advertised, are nevertheless sizable and made all the more delicious by adding chilli. Whether you're from Guelph or just passing through, Rocky's is certainly worth a visit, if only for a taste of what the area was like in the age of Rock n' Roll, Hot Rods, and Sputnik.

First time at Ricky's Drive-in since I moved to Guelph last year. We came as per my wife recommendation. Now, I'm kinda mad of why she didn't bring me here before... their hotdogs are amazing, best ones I have ever had. Don't get me wrong, I know many people will say that Costco ones are good. Well, they are, but the don't compare to Ricky's, they are just amazingly delicious... totally worth it Their onion rings are great as well. We had milkshakes... hmmmm, I already want to come back. All the food and beverages that we ordered were amazing... totally worth it and delicious. Fully recommended 😉😁😎🤟🏻🇨🇦🍁 Open from 11am to 7pm. From mid March to Mid October

Brought my son for the first time to Rocky's in Guelph. Full of tradition and nostalgia. The burgers were small but okay that is why the 4 *. But you go to Rockys for the hot dogs and for the shakes. Prepare yourself the milkshake is made how THEY SHOULD BE not super thick and "icecreamy" but MILKSHAKE perfect! I had the chocolate it was gone before anything else. My dog was great I had it with everything which is onion, tomato and relish. You add your own ketchup and mustard. The onion rings were awesome! My son said his burger and fries were good but the burger was small as mentioned. Simple - old school - blast from the past.
