This is a beautiful park, with some quiet little trails through the trees along the water. But despite being leash-free, this isn't particularly off-leash friendly. I went today for the first time because the city says it is dog friendly and off-leash. I passed three different groups who all had an issue with my dog being off leash. The River is navigable without portaging for perhaps 4 kilometers. With the exception of one very shallow area it's easy to paddle...
