I am an frequent flyer at this location of tahinis as I order through work and on my own free time and I have always had a great experience. The manager (I forgot his name) is a lovely man and is always so happy when I chat to him.
Unfortunately, this evening I do not have exceptional reviews for the customer service of the location. My team and I ordered food around 7:30pm to be picked up as this location does not offer delivery. We are a decent sized team and our order consisted of about 10 items and we were quoted about 35-45 minutes for pick up. I went to the location around 8:20 to pick up the order and I was ignored by the employee upon arrival (Janspreet is what I could read on her name tag). I politely said that I was here for pick up and she frantically said that she is not ready, the order is too big and she had only completed 3 items. I said that was no problem and I asked her if she had an idea of how long it might take. Very angrily she said she doesn't know, she is busy and she told me to go sit and pointed me to the seating area in a tone as if to say "get out of my face". I went back to my car and 15/20 min later I went back in. This time the owner was there and Janspreet was finishing up the order. I struck up a conversation with the owner and he was so kind and appreciative of us ordering from him and wanted to make sure that we enjoy the food they prepare. Janspreet seemed to be in a better mood with him around and handed me my food. Once getting back to work, we noticed there was a couple things wrong with the order (a salad was missing, a sauce was missing and lettuce was missing off the bowl). Because the salad was someone's meal, I went back to get it, or I would've left it. When I got back to the store, NO ONE was at the front counter. There was no door bell when I arrived to alert any employees that there was a customer in the store. I waited ~5 min until Janspreet came to the front and asked me what was wrong. I told her that we were missing a few things and she argued with me saying I was wrong and that I need to look better. I told her that the sauce was missing on a bowl and she said she put it in but you cant see it. I told her that my co worker ate a few bites and didn't taste anything and again she told me I was wrong. I then asked her if I could just get a small container of it to take with me. She begrudgingly gave it to me after a bit of argument and proceeded to shove the bags of the items I was missing into my face. There were a few other mistakes with my order but I didn't feel like being berated again so we let the issues go.
My team and I genuinely enjoy our food from Tahinis, it just sucks that this experience has tarnished my view on the service provided there. I will still continue to order as well, but I don't think I will ever physically go into the location again after the way that I was treated. Very...
Read moreI have been a regular customer at this location for the past 19 months, and I have never been as disappointed with the quality of service as I was today (Friday, April 18th, at around 1:00 AM).
This marks the third time I’ve experienced poor service from the same employee, who is consistently on her mobile phone—specifically, on a call—while working. I usually visit the store in the afternoon, but over the past four months, due to a change in my work schedule, I have been stopping by after midnight. Despite the store being out of my way, I still choose to come here because I’ve previously had positive experiences.
However, every time I order during the late-night hours, the same employee takes my order, asks for my topping preferences, and then proceeds to prepare it while continuing her phone call. My order takes at least 25 minutes to prepare—even when the store is completely empty—and almost every time, something I asked for is missing, or there’s an unwanted topping added.
The employee is extremely unprofessional and makes customers wait far too long for a single item. I personally never use my mobile phone while at work, and I believe it’s a basic expectation in any job that employees remain attentive and focused on their responsibilities—especially in customer-facing roles.
Tonight, I considered addressing the issue directly, but since the employee was once again on a call, I chose not to interrupt her. I’m writing this review in the hope that the store owner or manager sees it and takes appropriate action to ensure employees are not using their phones while working and that customer service and order accuracy are...
Read moreI don’t think I’ve ever been so disappointed from a place that made so much noise on social media. My girlfriend and I came here for lunch and were gravely upset after tasting the food
The falafel wrap had no vegetables in it, practically no tahini sauce (which is comical because it’s the name of the place), and was made on tanoori (saj) bread. Which isn’t authentic at all. The wrap was dry, no signs of greens, and made on bread that isn’t meant for falafel.
We also go the chicken shawarma wrap. A chicken shawarma wrap has minimal ingredients so nailing these ingredients shouldn’t be hard. The chicken was so dry that I’ll bet my life savings it wasn’t made that day. The wrap also had no signs of pomegranate molasses which was mentioned in the list of ingredients, and the smallest most insignificant smear of garlic sauce.
The fattouch wasn’t fattouch, it was lettuce, cabbage. Some cucumber, and a SINGULAR cherry tomato. At least they tried to be authentic with the fried pita.
Finally, we got the habibi bowl as well because it was a promotion on Mondays. The rice was stale and barely warm, chicken was dry, and the whole thing was just an unpleasant experience.
If you’re craving some authentic middle eastern food, do me a favour and don’t come to this place so something else opens...
