Extremely poor customer service and the food was disgusting!! Just got 2 orders of Pho from this restaurant. The person taking my order was to talking to me from across the restaurant and doing something else which gave me the feeling that they are not really interested in my business. They are only doing take out due to the pandemic and I understand that there needs to be social distancing but she was about 25-30 feet away. When I picked up my order I asked if everything was in the bag and she probably didn’t hear me properly because she was in the same place as when she took my order and doing the same thing. Then she couldn’t provide me with my receipt so I said it’s fine and left. When I got to my job site we saw that all the meat was completely raw and it was in the same container as the half cooked noodles which were covered with the blood from the meat the broth was not nearly hot enough to somewhat cook the meat. I looked in the bag to find that there were no utensils. I put the meat in the broth hoping that it would cook by the time I go get utensils, I went back to the restaurant telling the same person that there were no utensils. Instead of apologizing, she says “so what do you want” so not looking to argue and waste more of my time I asked for spoons and chopsticks and left. I got back to my job site to find that not only the meat was not cooked, the noodles were still hard. We threw the food in the garbage. I highly recommend you find somewhere else because you can easily get food poisoning based on what I...
Read moreSurprisingly Tasty. With this kind of restaurant, in this sort of town, you often wonder if its offerings cater for the "Meat & Potatoes Crowd," instead of what you get in Chinatowns and such. It's also hard to tell from the reviews, because you don't know the background of the reviewer. I was quite pleasantly surprised that "Thai Tanic's" offerings were quite satisfying for someone who has a background of visiting small Chinatown dive restaurants, and real Asian restaurants in Asia.
The fresh rolls were surprisingly large, with generous quantities of fillings. The sauce was quite thick with a lot of peanuts, not like these watery sauces you see at some places.
The Singapore noodles were hot, tasty and sufficiently spicy. They gave generous quantities of shrimp. The tastiness is quite good for this city, but not on the same level of what I've experienced in Bangkok, Nanjing, etc.
Service: The service is surprisingly attentive for this kind of restaurant. They came back and offerend more tea, brought more napkins, checked if everything was OK, etc.
Concerns: Some of the sauce bottles on the table needed to be filled. The tea was Lipton tea bags and not from tea leaves. There is only 1 washroom (Unisex) and it will undoubtedly get a lineup when the...
Read moreI really try not to complain. But this owner truly needs a new chef and a health check from the city. If I could give it 0 stars I would. My friend and I ordered Lemongrass chicken fried rice and red curry chicken which by definition and taste where NEITHER by any stretch of the imagination (I wish we took pictures). My home town is TO where you can get really authentic Thai food. I have no clue whatsoever how Guelph is giving this place 4 stars. It didn't click when we were ordering from this place as my gf lives closer to them and the name was changed. Since moving to Guelph 5 years ago this place changed their name 3 times and continues to cook the most disgusting food. When you go to pick up the fryer smells like it hasn't been drained and pumped in 3 years (which is probably the last time I was there). I wonder how they even got a PASS from the City. C'mon Guelph we can do better. It doesn't resemble any cuisine. My stomach is still wrenching from it this morning ....sadly we ate it reluctantly because at that point it was nearly 8pm and we had nothing else. My stomach is in knots today. Please shut...
