Perhaps you need to better train your employees on your internal processes and customer service.
If a customer orders for pick-up, but upon arrival decides it might be better to dine-in, and clearly requests if this is okay with your staff…to which your waiting staff confirms “sure that’s no problem, sit wherever and I will get your meal”, then that right there is an oversight on your staff and NOT the customer.
That initial instance would’ve been the right opportunity to point out any service issues, not mid-meal, stating that “Next time if you order for pick-up you must eat outside of the restaurant.” Um excuse me? Perhaps, a better tone and politer approach was needed. And for clarity, the service staff was not even called over, nothing was requested, but your staff felt the need to interject and ruin someone's meal instead of internally addressing their own mistakes. Additionally, it is downright appalling to not include paper napkins in a take-out order, and then feel burdened if someone later requests that. This is a basic item that even a drive-thru place has, a $15 meal and not a single napkin in the take-out is ridiculous.
Please train your staff. This incidence was poorly handled and could’ve been dealt with much better. You don’t need to be paid for politeness. Quite a cheap attitude. For sure this experience was shared with co-workers, who were equally appalled, and sadly lost this particular location as a...
Read moreQuick version: Great food at a fare price. My kids loved it. Good service. Lots of fruit options. All in all a great experience, will be returning.
Long version: I was looking to go out for a nice Sunday breakfast with my kids (Ages: 11, 9, 6). My kids can be fairly picky and restaurants quickly become hit or miss. So I was happy to hear them excited when they opened their menus. My youngest ordered off of the kids menu which had a lot of good options, but she went with the waffle and fruit. The two older boys ordered off of the main menu, getting the Triple chocolate pancakes and a Three meat burger respectively. I got a typical two egg breakfast. The place was really busy but we got our food in good time. The portions were pretty good and literally every bite was eaten. My kids loved it.
The prices were fine, not cheap, but acceptable for what was on offer, and it should be noted that fruit is made front and center in many meals, which is rare from a breakfast place and very appreciated. Our server was lovely. The aesthetic was... cohesive?, branding was maintained throughout and the focus on fruit was continued through out it all. The kitchen is in full view and was clean and orderly, which is good to see/be to able see.
All in all a great experience, will...
Read moreI have been to a few different Cora restaurants across Canada and everytime I am disappointed. To start I find the entire design/theme of the restaurants and menus to be an enormous eyesore and frankly unpleasant to sit/read in for any length of time. The menu is atrocious to read and navigate and always lead to a panicked decision when the over worked waiter comes to take my order. On my first visit I was so overwhelmed that I ended trying to order off the wall art because the menu was impossible, only to be told they could make me an apple cheddar crepe because it was on the menu (even thought it was on wall)
To make matters worse the kitchens seem to be horribly unaccomodating. I am allergic to a hand full of tropical fruits and substituting them for apples has always resulted in an extra charge. This wouldn't bother me if the prices were not already outrageous. The gimmick of fresh fruit does not warrant the price tag, even if they do present it so preciously.
All of this is made worse by the general atmosphere. It is always busy, and the staff always seems to be on a rush to get us out. And so I am felt feeling like I have visited the most atrociously decorated and over priced...
