Hidden Gem for Authentic Indian Cuisine
What a delightful discovery! I recently ordered from this Indian restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity and quality of their food.
Chicken Biriyani (5/5): The Chicken Biriyani was an absolute delight. It boasted the perfect blend of flavors and came in a generous portion. Not only was it delicious, but it was also the most affordable biriyani I've found in Halifax without compromising on quality.
Spinach Pakoras (5/5): The spinach pakoras felt homemade and packed a delightful punch of spices. They added a homey, comforting touch to the meal.
Vada Pav (5/5): The Vada Pavs were huge in portion as it states in the name. The inclusion of green chili was a pleasant bonus. Each bite transported to the streets of India, and couldn't have been happier with the taste.
Paneer Tikka Masala (4/5): I found the Paneer Tikka Masala to be a bit too rich for my taste, however it had the biggest chunks of tasty paneers compare to any other places in Halifax.
If you're in the mood for exceptional Indian cuisine that won't break the bank, this place should be at the top...
Read moreI am West Indian (🇯🇲) and therefore doesn’t mind a little spice but I had it the first time and it was too spicy. I figured it was a culture thing so no worries however my Indian coworker told me that I can tell them how spicy to make it. I ordered a second time and asked for “mild spice”, but it was still spicy as hell. I had to have two glasses of milk to eat it. I was like “ok the next time I order I will just say no spice at all”. Finally, the third time I made sure to tell her “no spice” over the phone and she confirmed. When I went to pick it up, I asked “no spice right?” She smiled and nodded her head. I got home and my household and I couldn’t eat it at all. It was spicier than all the other times I have ever bought it. I felt my chest burning when I tried to eat the chicken Biriyani rice because of how spicy it was. I am not saying the food tastes bad, it tasted rich in seasoning and was flavourful but the murderous level of the spice ruins it for us. If this is the way it’s made then I understand that it might just not be for my household. All the best in...
Read moreI had been wanting to go there for some time. Located on a quiet side street, the location is perfect. A nice walled patio awaits you in the back. Excellent selection of appetizers and mains and desserts. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The food is of course of this world. Everyone at our table loved their dishes. We started with an order of tandoori chicken for the table as an appetizer. Normally tandoori chicken can be on the dry side but this was so moist and delicious. The best! I had the butter chicken and it was probably one of the best butter chickens I've ever had. Also if you are going to have rice, get the jeera rice which is basmati rice laced with cumin seeds. Well worth the extra dollar! LOL Can't wait to go back and try some more...
