A delightful green space at the hearts of Halifax is a welcome and practically useful in a delightful socially enhancing fashion I provide only 4 stars due to the elements of excessive "public" duress that is placed under due to under maintenance And over use. A green space at the heart of a city is not something to be taken for granted it is a wonderful opportunity 4 people and their pets and multiple ball fields with a skatepark and a military Bass in the most elevated Hill and the highest point in the area adding to it's exploring expatriate appeal. Which is a controversial Pro versus con notion however in the future I feel it to be a definite Pro as it is well maintained on the military side and very accurate and it's projection of excellent accurate historical value in continuity. (Minor note:the washrooms are located to the far north on the edge of the Greenspace. The motivation primarily for only providing a 4-star rating for this wonderful magnificent fantastic and beautiful space is that the washrooms are poorly maintained and is to me a violation of all that is good and well in the world as they are so putridly revolting but please do not let that deter you it is otherwise a grande lovely and pride inducing phenomenon and Grand and of Epic quality features for a city to have)there are also grand fountains centrally located in the public Green Space. Some of the more recent the infrastructure that has been included into the features that this space possesses includes a well maintained and functional well used and maintained characteristics is what we call an oval. A smoothly paved ovular space with out buildings Dedicated do the pro bono rental of sports equipment(with some more advanced equipment available at a nominal fee)for use with said paved area. Designed to run clockwise people of varying degrees of skill are allocated to appropriate Lanes in the tarmac. There are tennis courts there are basketball courts and people play games of all sorts a different places in this Green Space. Everyone is welcome. Bring a cooler with some drinks of a non-alcoholic nature of course and have a...
Read moreThis is a wonderful place for leisure people or students. There is a wide common lawn, skatepark and the area for children to play. Further more, there is public ice-skating in winter. It's convenient to borrow pairs of skating shoes if you have a piece of ID card. There are some learning chair for new skater. In addition, there are permanent public washrooms on the other side of the Halifax Common. It might take a 2 minutes walk for parents to cross the common from those facilities just mentioned above. However, it might be a little fun to pass by the large fountain. Overall, it's relaxing to visit Halifax Common. I would prefer to be there...
