Kelly's Deli — Restaurant in Halifax

I lived on Farnham Gate Rd for over five years and had never tried here. An acquaintance recommended it a few days ago, so a coworker and I decided to get lunch takeout from here to bring back to the office. We liked it enough to go back again two days later. I have tried the Cold Cut Italian sub, Meatball sub, Donair Sub. Third visit I had the chicken salad sub because I felt like something fresh/cold, and it was good, but my favorites are definitelythe Italian or Meatball. Your choice of toppings are similar to the style of Subway, with lots of sauce, cheese and veggie options. Their small is a good size, like 8" I would guess. Medium must be 10" and large 12"? Mainly though, they are quite satisfying and tasty. Very friendly staff/owners. They sell homemade and storebought sweets. Today I asked about one of their slices of cake with pink icing, and they gave a 2nd slice free bc they weren't made fresh today, and apparently the recipe had a mistake in it. We tried them anyway and it was still tasty and moist, so win/win. The sandwich cookies with icing are huge and tasty. Their lemon cookies are delicious! We will be back...

Once i found this place I've been here multiple times the owners are awesome and how they pride themselves in what they are doing is a big reason I come back so I’m not leaving a bad rating ..BUT the younger crowd working not so much customer service skills very minimal especially the younger blonde there was one shorter young man that was keeping the quality alive but all the rest .. no , quality of sandwiches not near how I was introduced to this place there’s no effort really I don’t know if some of them are high lol but i usually have to remind them multiple times what I said I wanted , and no not due to them not being able to hear me just to repeat myself and when I go in it’s not like it’s busy and they got a bunch going on which would be fine that’s just not the case , they don’t seem to be aware of what products they sell just be-hide the counter not talking about the other treats and stuff , I would hate for yall to loose customers over people doing half assed jobs when you’ve clearly worked hard for your company . Best sandwhich place around with the owners working...

Well, it’s Kelly’s Deli! One of the debatable “top 3 sub spots in hrm” ( the other two being “two boys” and keizers)

As you walk in, you are met with a long narrow store which naturally leads you to the sandwich/ sub boards to initiate the construction of your home style subway- ish masterpiece 👌.

I was pretty excited for this place so I went for a small smoked meat sub AND a “Brother’s cold cuts” full size sub 😊- that’s right, a goddamned sub and a half got stuffed into this gullet!

Smoked meat was toasted with Swiss, accompanied by classic mustard and pickle… it was delectable.🤤

Second was the classic brother’s cold cuts and yeehaw, this was a little trip into flavour-town. I asked for all the vegetables, and it did not disappoint. Delicious sub. What stood out from the comp was the bread for me. It was fresh, fluffy and held the package together nicely.
