Michelle Ashley's Bakery — Restaurant in Halifax

I ordered a custom cake here for my birthday. I had never heard of this bakery before but it was the cheapest place I could find that could do the style of cake I wanted. Not only was service friendly & accommodating, but this cake was beautiful and DELICIOUS. I was blown away by how good it was. Sometimes, the fancier a cake is, the worse it seems to taste. This was absolutely not the case here. I got red velvet with cream cheese icing. It was moist and soft and the icing was light and not overly sweet. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a vintage style cake that not only looks good, but tastes good. I finally got a chance to try this place out. The store was clean and nicely laid out. I bought some mini cupcakes, two different bars, and a loaf of white bread. I enjoyed everything. Cupcakes were a good balance of cake vs icing. Icing wasn't too sweet. The cookies and cream bar reminded me of my favourite Godiva bark bar that has long since been discontinued. And the bread, well, I have bought a lot of white bread from a lot of bakeries trying to find one that is like my grandmother's. Her's is my gold standard. The closest I've found is a bakery by Keji, but this is now my second. The texture of the bread, the way it toasts, even the way the loaf looks, it reminded me of my grandmother's. Michelle Ashley’s came to our rescue after our baker cancelled last minute for our wedding. We contacted Michelle and she was amazing to deal with from start to finish! From ordering and choosing flavours to our pick up of the order. We received countless compliments on how delicious the cupcakes and cake we had ordered were!
