It breaks my heart to say this, but our last experience with wilmans was absolutely terrible. What makes things worse, is the abysmal customer service we received from everyone working in the store.

To begin, our family has always been a huge fan of Wilman's. We have ordered many times from the store since it's been under new ownership. I am sad to say that we will never order from there again.

On Father's Day, we ordered a large amount of food for the entire family. We paid over $200. All of the fish that we received was horrendously overdone. Not just a little bit. The fish was hard and tough. You could barely chew through it. We literally had to soak it in lemon juice to be able to swallow it.

When we called to express our concerns, the person working there simply said "oh, umm, ok," Lucian, the owner, was not there.

A few days later when we called, he said he didn't believe the food was overdone, but he could offer us a free meal.

We have family from PEI staying with us for a few days and we thought we would take up Lucian on his offer to make things right for us.

When we called today, we spoke with a woman who said that Lucian was busy and then promptly hung up the phone.

When we called back to speak with Lucian, he said the only way that he would honor the free meal is if we return the food from the original meal. We reminded him that the meal was on Father's Day which was over a month ago. He insisted that unless we return the food that he would not give us a free meal. I have no idea what could possibly justify that kind of thought process. Who keeps food from a meal for over a month?? What a slap in the face.

So, between the awful food, rude service, and lying in connection with honoring a complimentary meal, we will never be able to go back again.

I feel terrible that this restaurant has hit rock bottom. I would strongly recommend avoiding it...

Awesome Seafood!”

My wife and I visited Willman's for the first time, December 2011. We received a very warm welcome from the owner Lucien. He took the time to talk with us and he was quite pleasant. It was a very warm atmosphere; his establishment and the washroom were extremely clean.

Initially, I asked how he would compare his food to John's Lunch in Dartmouth. He replied; "we get our seafood from the same supplier, I cook mine in canola oil that is changed daily, John’s Lunch cooks in lard." I was impressed at how humble he was.

We had the large and small seafood platters; they were exceptionally good, reasonably priced and cheaper than John's Lunch. It was a generous amount, the right temperature along with being fresh. The clams were lightly battered and extremely tender as was the calamari, scallops were sweet and melted in our mouths; my wife agreed. I highly recommend his “Lucien style” fish; it was a light, crispy coating. After our meal, I told Lucien there is a major difference between Willman’s and John's Lunch and John's Lunch simply does not compare with his. His response was “thank you, I am pleased that you are happy.”

We returned again on December 28th and the food was consistent with our first visit.

I own and operate a limousine service in Toronto, Ontario, I only point that out to say, I understand how important it is to always give great customer service, provide quality products to your clients and customers and maintaining that level of consistency.

Willman’s exceeded our expectations and we will definitely visit again when we are back in...

I just got an all clams (no fries) order from here - when I walked in a worker (not the owner) said you have the lg fries and clams? I said nope just the all clams - he said oh right I got it wrong. - but clearly he made it already - after a couple minutes

He hands me my order and I paid $28 - I got to the car felt super light from my previous experiences and I opened it. Barely the bottom of a large take out container was covered with clams - like barely one layer of clams.

and that was when I realized he just said screw it and just gave me whatever he cooked, that was suppose to be on top of the fries. He just left the fries out and basically gave me the smallest order of clams ive ever received from here for an all or only clams order.

Customer service has gone out the window I didn’t even bother going back. As a long time customer it just feels like crap having to come back and fight for what I paid for. It is honestly so frequent in businesses right now it’s disheartening and makes it not even worth it because then you just get people go pretend they all the sudden don’t know what’s up and down and make you feel stupid for expecting to get what you paid for.

$28 is pretty steep to have to still buy food after. Rough first experience of the season might be the last. $28 what it cost for me to realize I most likely won’t be back.

I can get a large gourmet pizza for $28 from Salvatore’s one door down and feed an entire...

It was our first time ordered in from them. We got Big Bouy Platter and beet salad. The Big Bouy Platter was good, just felt like the portion of shrimp and scallops were small, we only got 3 shrimp and 2 scallops in total. The fish was very tasty, but the fries were a bit greasy and soggy (i assumed it was cuz we ordered in) the beet salad was okay, the description on the app and the food were a little bit different tho. (They mentioned pecans in the salad on the app but couldn’t find it, there’s tomatoes and onions in the salad but they didn’t say) Other than that the food was pretty good.

I worked next door years ago and remembered they had great fish n chips. Went back with half my family (just my youngest son) and the food was great. Fish was a bit small and not many fries considering the price. But we loved the food. 2 stars because of the extras they over charge for. And I believe that is why they are not busy. $4 plus for a can of pop .50 cents or $1.50 for tater sauce with the fish. $2. A tiny cup of cole saw. I might go back but I would pre prepare before with tater sauce and drinks. Might of been $14 plus tax for 3 cans of pop and tater sauce and 2 small coleslaw.

Visiting area, ate here twice for dinner. Haddock and chips were great , batter is crispy and not too oily, fries made freah and perfect. Tartar sauce made in house and tasty, one of the best ive had. Seafood chowder just right , tasty. Coleslaw also made in house and tasty. I like Gahan house fish and chips and this was less greasey and crispier , good colour on batter. If i lived in area i would make this my regular stop for seafood. Only two workers and both were friendly and easy to have a conversation with. Definitely coming back whem visiting.
