I was actually torn between 3 and 4 stars on this one. We decided to come here for a nice scenic drive and because it was so highly rated. We tried to come here a month or 2 ago but they were closed due to weather, no big deal. I don’t think anyone else that has reviewed this place has actually ever had really good, life changing fries. So let me start by saying, we came from Milton and decided to take 10 side road to get there because there is a 10 side road entrance. So let me paint a picture for you - it’s a food truck beside a gas station and in the back of the gas station is outdoor storage/parking. That’s fine and all, I have no problem with that. The problem I have were with the huge potholes and ruts in the pavement. Next, I’d like to point out that we didn’t know it was CASH ONLY but the lady taking orders was extremely nice, she let us take our orders and go grab cash and come back. I loved that customer service. Also, didn’t feel rushed and she was lovely answering any questions we had about the menu. So we ordered: spicy sausage, onion rings, poutine, ground beef poutine, and burger. (I asked for cheese burger but there must have been a mistake, not the end of world). Let me say for a fries place - the best thing on the menu were the onion rings. The onion rings were absolutely fantastic. Fries were nothing to write home about. For a place that focuses on fries, I would think that their fries would mind blowing but I was unfazed. Also, to note - the portion sizes were massive for fries. Sausage just tasted like it was a boiled sausage then put on the grille to char…it wasn’t even charred that much - it was like lightly touched by the grille. I believe that the burger was frozen then cooked on a grille. The meat looked like Harvey’s angus burger to be honest. Also, I don’t think the bun was toasted. Was ok…way too over priced for the burger and sausage though - for what you receive. Could have gone to Harvey’s and gotten 2 burgers for the same price as the burger at Lou Anne’s. Overall, if you’re in the area, give it a try. Not a place to go out of your way for. Very mediocre.

Louanne's Newfie Poutine and hot dogs are simply outstanding! The combination of crispy fries, savory gravy, and cheese curds in their poutine is a taste sensation that will transport you straight to flavor heaven. The hot dogs are perfectly grilled, juicy, and bursting with flavor, What makes the experience even better is that these mouthwatering treats are offered at affordable prices. Plus, with parking available, you can easily satisfy your cravings without any hassle. Don't miss out on Louanne's delectable Newfie poutine – they're a true delight! PS: Accept cash only

SHOUTOUT to Louanne's Famous Fries!!!! The Newfie Poutine was sooo DELICIOUS, omg!!! The portion size was incredible as well. It was like a hot hamburger on top of a poutine. How could you go wrong with that!? Oh, and the chicken fingers 😮 huge and one of the best I’ve ever had! Will definitely be a returning customer !! The Newfie in me was in-love with her lunch today!! If you haven’t yet, stop by and support this local food truck! You won’t be disappointed!!

A “warning shot over the bow” … We like, LOVE family owner/operator businesses. If we don’t support them. they’ll disappear and we’ll all be at the mercy of BIG BUSINESS and have to play by their rules!

My wife and I haven't been to Louanne's since it moved from the Trafalgar/10th Liine location so we were looking forward to checking out its new location. As mentioned, "We're a BIG fan of LOCAL/OWNER establishments"... especially those who support the LOCAL community.

About two+ weekends ago, we decided to visit on our way back from Toronto, it was getting late to cook at home so why not?

We ordered two burgers and although they were as expected, the two girls working there demonstrated a lack of friendliness (it was uncomfortable almost immediately).

To make matters worse, when we asked where the condiments were to put on the burgers (they are usually on the shelf alongside the order window)... it was like we were asking for too much.

They said “What do you want on it"... they wanted us to give them the burgers back to put the ingredients on them. I was stunned, before I could respond, my wife piped up and asked “Where are the condiments, they're usually here".... pointing to the shelf.

So, they then put them out on the shelf and they were almost empty. For example, there was one mangled thin tomato slice in the container. As if that would do for the two burgers.

So my wife asked for more tomatoes. The girl then grabbed a tomato, and right in front of us bare-handed, began to slice them, placing each one individually (bared-handed) in the container. If felt like it was done this way on purpose. Now I don't know how others would feel about this but, for us, food prep hygiene is paramount in our household and our expectations are the same for restaraunts.

Then the napkins... no napkins... my wife asked for napkins… the girl gave us one napkin... she had to ask for more...

... this was the most awkward, antisocial, uncomfortable experience I think we've ever had, especially at a LOCAL/OWNER-RUN establishment that relies on community support and word of mouth.

If we hadn't already paid upfront, we would have walked away! To make matters worse, while sitting in our car (RELUCTANTLY) eating the burgers, we discussed what just happened, the tomato incident ("Tomato Gate") and came to the conclusion that perhaps, this is a new norm now... even for private owners operators, (in a small community to boot!) let alone big chain restaurants, perhaps its time we stop patronizing them all together!

I know the owner reads and responds to social media reviews, but I’m NOT expecting a response or offer to come back for a re-do… I’m just hoping that this was a glitch.

Regarding a “warning shot over the bow” comment…

All too often, business owners fail over time, not knowing why and it's usually because, as a mentor long ago told me, “It’s not the Customers you gain, but rather the Customers you lose, and that you never know why, that ultimately ends a business”.

This is the reason I wrote this (lengthy) review and, the reason why it took me over two weeks to decide to write it, because I geniunely like this establishment, have great memories taking my daughter there when she was a kid after soccer game etc.

I could have easily just said “Oh well, another business bites the dust” but I didn’t want that to happen to this business, especially since all the headaces that the owner endured to finally get the business back up and running.

I’m (we’re all) rooting for you!

Perhaps in a few weeks, we’ll give Louanne’s another “shot". There's nothing better than sharing a small Poutine on a chilly, sunny day in the Fall.

3 stars because we hope that this...
