Let me start by saying that I have frequented this particular Swiss Chalet and Harvey's many times, living in Georgetown for nearly 20 years with a family of seven. Long wait times on order ahead. A weak excuse given of "the fryer being cleaned". Cleaning a fryer is a predictable task, and the purpose of online ordering is for convenience - this was a weak excuse. When I was standing at the checkout, waiting for my order, I could not help but notice the pre-cooked food sitting in the stainless steel pass-through window from the kitchen to the front. There were a few hamburgers, as well as two poutine containers, with fries only in it. While standing there, I saw the person behind the dividing window take the fries, put them back in a fryer basket where they sat for at least five minutes, put them back in a deep fryer, and subsequently packaged them as plain fries. The burgers were also taken back and returned to the stainless steel platform in different forms. I waited for an order of wings, where the sauce was mistakenly applied and I saw them put the same wings back into the fryer. What a disgusting wake-up call. I don't think I will ever revisit this restaurant. Seeing the food sitting there getting cold and then re-cooked alone is appalling. I have never witnessed such poor quality. I have often been in here before to order burgers, and the process was usually clearly made to order. It is known with the wings that they take longer, and ordering online makes sense. If this inferior practice I witnessed is everyday in takeout places, it makes me rethink ordering premade food. I don't know what part of this whole experience is more revolting. This may represent a decline in the quality and integrity of this business as Georgetown is becoming a larger city, and people do not care about quality. Working in Mississauga and Toronto, I have many other options for spending my hard-earned money. I may have to consider getting Swiss Chalet outside of Georgetown to know the food isn't old and potentially lethal. The staff walk around like a bunch of Lemmings. There is one lady here I would see here verytime, and she seems like the only person who knows whats going on. What a joke. I contacted the restaurant about my concerns and they...
Read moreWorst. Service. Ever. After missing 6 items from our 4 dinner takeout meal, I was held up on the phone for over 30 min trying to speak with someone. Originally I just wanted to go pick everything up, but I was directed around the call centre for ages. We were told we could go pick up the missing items or receive a $10 credit for our next visit. I asked if the 6 missing items were equivalent to a $10 value, so they said $15 was the best they could do. Like I said, I would have just drove back to pick up the items in the first place, but after waiting for 30 min to speak to someone, my family was finished eating. I was just blown away with the service on the phone- no apologies what so ever. Just a casual "you can go pick it up" attitude. I've never experienced such poor customer service in my life. I contacted Cara and made a complaint, and heard nothing back. Not only was I upset about the way I was treated, but I also had a question regarding some possible false advertising on their recent holiday direct mail piece. It seems we were overcharged for our meals in the first place, so I just wanted to clarify the price. I can't believe they didn't contact me back... Very disappointed.
We tried them once more after our original "fiasco" and the food only got worse. We received a little teaspoon of stuffing with our festive meals and overall were unsatisfied with the food quality. Will not be returning. I suggest spending your...
Read moreI recently visited Swiss Chalet for the first time with my family and friends, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Mari and Ashley went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable time.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly service. The atmosphere was inviting and perfect for a family gathering. Mari and Ashley were attentive and made us feel right at home. They took the time to explain the menu, offered great recommendations, and ensured that all our dietary preferences were accommodated.
The food was exceptional! Every dish was prepared to perfection, and the flavors were simply delightful. The rotisserie chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the sides were fresh and delicious. Our kids loved the special attention they received, and the dessert was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.
Mari and Ashley's professionalism and genuine care for their customers truly set this experience apart. They made sure we had everything we needed and checked in regularly to see if we were enjoying our meal. Their friendly and welcoming demeanor made us feel like valued guests.
