Ordered 2 orders of the Hariyali Chicken Tikka, 4 Chicken Samosas, 1 order of of Basalmi Rise, and Plain Nan bread. The Hariyali Chicken was very Dry, and disappointing Flavor, It was also smothered in Cooked and raw Onion!? Onion in this dish was a Very strange mix, and unappealing to the pallet. We order that item everytime we eat Indian food from other Restaurants, and have never been disappointed before, it was very lacking in the traditional Flavor of the dish, and the heat they used extremely over powered the flavor, but not in a good way. This is a dish we usually crave for but we are turning it down all though we are hungry. The Chicken Samosas where loaded, with Onion!?! Not sure if they are trying to save money by using the onion as a filler!? But it just does not taste appropriate, or appealing at all! They did not send me any Chutney for the Samosa, The dough they used over the filling was very good choice for a samosa. The rice was Cooked properly, but the Main parts of the dish where extremely disappointing. The Nan bread was made a Tad soggy , and the " Salad" that comes with the Chicken was a few pieces of Shredded lettuce that was turning Brown, and about 2 tiny pieces of cucumber It was plain with no dressing, even though on the menu it states that the chicken comes with a side of house Salad. I would "Not Recommend this place unless you have a unusual obsession with Onion, and want to pay a good amount of money for your onion obsession. Even though it was my first time ordering I dont think I would risk waisting anymore money on this place. It would be Great if they showed incentive, and offered a refund, I may then be willing to Try something else...
Read moreAn atrocity against South Indian cuisine If you love the heat, you’ll love this restaurant, as it has no functioning air conditioner. Our visit began “wonderfully” as we were seated on tables which were freshly varnished but had not yet dried. The hostess/waitress failed to mention this to us when we sat down. Stains were left on my wife’s arm and my mother’s dress. All we got was a scant apology. The amateur hour continued as the waitress took our menus away before we placed our order. Who does that? Everyone in our party ordered a South Indian delicacy known as Dosa. The best part about eating out is eating together –not at Bombay Touch. At least 30 minutes must have passed between the first person receiving their Dosa and the last.
When the Dosa did arrive it looked like a dilapidated mess. The colour was white almost as if the Dosa was undercooked and the potatoes were bland and uninspiring. If you like sodium, you’ll love their Sambar. And if you blinked don’t worry you didn’t miss any trace of lentil as there was none. Their Sambar is more reminiscent of a curry. A traditional Sambar is a thicker stew. The accompanying chutneys were also botched. Instead of getting a mint chutney and coconut we only received the tamarind (not traditional). Their version of “coconut chutney,” was far from edible, as it was a garlic sodium-filled mess. After finishing what we could, we hastily asked for the cheque and got out of there vowing never to return. I highly recommend the owners consider getting rid of the South Indian menu so no one else experiences that atrocity against South...
Read moreThis is one of our families favourite restaurants! We have always had a very positive experience, and I can't believe it isn't busier.
We always go at dinner, bring our young children and they love the food as well, and eat all of the same dishes we do. Our children are not "chicken fingers and fries only" kids- but rice, naan and butter chicken are all pretty friendly for medium-ly picky kids.
Many times the owner has come out of the kitchen to say hello and talk about the Indian dishes I am trying to make at home (I am have British Heritage but love Indian food and culture) and has even brought our 5 year old a small dish of butter chicken in case he didn't like the spicyness of the dishes we ordered.
We order family style so we can share all the dishes. Our favourites are the aloo tikki appetizer (this is my personal favourite!), veg. samosas (they are huge and a great price), the chicken rogan josh (my husband's favourite dish ever- we occasionally just order this for pick up and I make rice and Chana masala at home), rice, garlic naan, and usually another dish we pick at random because we havent had a bad dish yet-vindaloo, korma, tikka masala. They are all excellent. We do not order any meat beside chicken or beef though- just as a taste preference.
We even brought my mom (who says she HATES food with any spice and doesn't like any exotic dishes -- because of Bombay Touch she is obsessed with butter chicken, requests to go to Bombay touch when she is visiting and will even try other Indian dishes !)
(We haven't been to the new location but look forward to...
