The first month was reasonable...? -the dishwasher had a leak, it took over a year of maintenance requests to get a new dishwasher. I then had to replace it myself because they left it outside my door and did nothing, resulting me to turn off the power from the breaker, disconnect the pluming and electrical connections. I left the old dishwasher outside the garbage chute after replacing it. -The fire alarm goes off at all times of the day and night 5am, 10pm, 2pm, etc.. all the time. It's enough to drive you crazy. -bedbugs and cockroaches are rampant through the entire building. -they made me pay last month's rent and then turned around and told me when I gave my last 2 months notice that they do not take last months rent. I gave them a money order and it is photocopied and stapled to the lease I signed, that they broke within the first couple of months. -125 wellington then charged me for months I did not live there, which is now reflecting negatively on mine and my spouses credit, for the same amount. They will not return my phone calls, return the creditors phones calls nor email me back regarding this matter. It is complete credit fraud. They charged the same amount, over 3k to myself and my spouses credit amounting to over 7k for months after I gave my notice and they "applied" my last month's rent they said they "lost". I have been trying to contact them for months with no response. -there was always drug addicts in the stairwells, leaving countless needles and needle tops that my dogs almost stepped on countless times. -stairwells always had pee in them. -the hallways always smelled. -the elevator was constantly broken down. -there was always people screaming and a police presence in or around the building regarding residents. -the broken fire exit door leading to the stairwell resulted in homeless people sleeping in the stairwells was a constant occurance. -the laundry room had a flood on christmas, I decided to fix the problem as I could not find any of the staff to stop the machine from overfilling. The machine spilled all over the laundry room and into the basement common area, leaving another tenant and I to contain the leak, I had to manually shut off the water to stop the water from flowing, preventing thousands of dollars of water damage. I emailed the building about it and never even received a thank you nor a reply back. -the building is riddled with drug dealers -a buzzer was never assigned to us during our entire stay, resulting in having to go all the way to the front to let in my guests. -my key fob broke and they made me pay for a new one, it didn't break in half or anything. It just stopped working. I had to pay $50 for a new one. -the fenced in common area outside is strangely not for use and the sprinkler system is broken. -dumpsters are always overflowing and garbage just thrown and ripped open all over the garbage area. -management never seem to know what is going on because of lack of communication between staff and you will always be the one to pay in the end because of this flaw. -This building is the true definition of a slum. DO NOT LIVE HERE or 50cathcart, the sister building attached. -Go there and ask current tenants about the building. I am sure you will get similar responses to mine. Please, take my word and save yourself a lot of heartache, even if you're desparate. DO...
Read moreA place where I can't seem to find any peace.
Hello, I've been residing in this place for the past four months, and my experience here has been quite challenging.
As someone who works in IT and spends most of my time working from home, I cherish the idea of having a tranquil environment to live in.
However, my journey here has been far from tranquil.
Right from the beginning, I encountered a significant issue with mice infesting my apartment. Despite best efforts to eradicate them using various methods, they persistently return. In December alone, I've had to deal with the distressing task of eliminating at least seven of these critters. I've managed to come up with a solution to keep them from infiltrating my living space. I had hoped for some peace, but the ongoing disturbances continue to disrupt my daily life.
In February, another problem arose with false alarms sounding off randomly throughout the day, sometimes as often as twice daily. The incessant noise proved to be quite bothersome and disruptive to my peace of mind.
However, the biggest challenge that made me post this review emerged in March when construction work commenced in the parking area. The noise generated from the ongoing construction is simply unbearable. As someone who relies on a quiet environment to concentrate on my work, the constant racket has made it incredibly difficult for me to maintain productivity. In fact, it's even impeding my ability to conduct business calls effectively due to the loud background noise. I couldn't even hear my own voice; how could I expect someone on the call to hear me?
Despite paying a considerable amount in rent, the mental strain and inconvenience caused by the ongoing construction issue is draining me mentally.
I'll continue to provide updates on my situation as...
Read moreEdited [2½ star] Initially, my experience here was not at all up to par for living expectations mainly due to residence being inconsiderate (i've been here 4, 1/2 months). However since reviewing about these problems in an elaborate mannor, i cannot lie and say that the halls still have garbage riddled in them as much as they had. The cleaning team has done much more to maintain cleanliness, either that or the management team has approached the individuals littering in the halls and stopped it. To reiderate, so far management of this building has been thorough in their work, and they even approached me personally to talk further, (and I respect that greatly) I do feel a sense of confidence and passion towards fixing these issues of this building from management.
As for the noise of the building, construction is a good sign of money being spent to improve quality of living, however noisy it may be, it is happening for our benefit. Fire Alarms going off at night have seemed to stop as of the last month and some, fingers crossed*. I've even had solid quality repairs done to this appartment unit, and have had nothing but good experiences with the maintenance crew. The application process is easy to use when in need of any room repairs aswell (website based).
It just boils down to the people living here not doing their part to keep clean, be respectful or even be mindful that you aren't the only one living here.
All in all, the team that works here is trying to do their part to better the building, I've noticed it first hand.
Disclosure this review is NOT exaggerating to any degree* and is not aimed at any specific demographic. HOWEVER if the shoe seems to fit. Then look no further than self...
