Ordered a beef noodle soup with flank beef and beef balls. It's my usual order at a new vietnamese restaurant.
I heard bad things about this restaurant, but they had a health inspection on March 21st or 22nd so I gave it a shot.
The place was clean. It looks almost identical to how it was with the last owners.
The server was not very helpful or seemed too interested in customer service. She handed off the food...and when she punched up my order she didn't even have a spot where I could give her a tip so whatever, I guess if I'm not paying for service I'm fine with no service.
Food came out after 5 or so minutes. I ordered a 'large' which was $8. Medium is $7.50. Not sure why prices are so close together, but the large was not very large.
The green onion they had on top looked wilted. Probably because this place doesn't get a lot of business.
However, the broth tasted clean and delicious. Not too salty. The beef balls were also very good. And the flank beef was fantastically tender...really very good.
I would be happy to go back. I don't care about bad service if they aren't asking for tip. And the prices are not the best, but $8 is not terrible (although at the vietnamese restaurant in jackson square at Nations you can get a bowl 2x as big for $7.50...although it doesn't taste quite as nice...still good though).
I also forgot to mention that the noodles seemed a bit...

We ordered beef pho. The pho bowls seem smaller than other restaurants, but they provided a good amount of protein. The soup is on the bland side. The beef is on the lower quality. Would need the oyster sauce and Sriracha for flavour. The atmosphere is your average Asian establishment with no fancy decor. There is a foul sewage smell within and outside the establishment. It was getting a bit harder to bear as we were trying to finish our food. Cleanliness around the premise could be better. This summer's heat makes things get worse much...
