Chester's Fried chicken — Restaurant in Hamilton

Tried this the other night on “Skip the Dishes” had ordered the 8 piece dinner with 4 biscuits and one side with a 2 litre pop. Arrived quickly and was hot, chicken was good, crunchy batter and wasn’t greasy at all. The chicken itself was nice and tender and moist. The biscuits were equivalent to Popeyes but Chester’s are larger in size and are cut. Had the wedges as the side and they were also good, a bit of a spice but not much. Compared to KFC and Popeyes I would get this, it’s almost comparable to Mary Browns chicken IMO, but there’s no Mary Brown’s in central Hamilton, ON. We received 2 breasts, 3thighs, and 3 large drumsticks. Fed us for 2 meals, just my wife and myself. Tasted fresh and cooked properly, will definitely order again from Chesters! *I’ve edited this review-I’ve ordered since, it’s still good but last few times we a bit too greasy and the 8 piece meal, got mostly legs? Found it to be “hit and miss” sometimes it’s excellent, sometimes not so great. Hope they get more consistent on their frying and cooks. Biscuits...

It is with a heavy heart that I leave this review. I’ve been ordering wings from here for over 5 years now. Throughout my undergrad and now as a real adult. Mostly through uber eats. Great price, and their chipotle sauce is from the heavens. Our history and the chipotle sauce is why I still leave 2 stars because it can’t be ignored. However, a couple weeks ago I went to pick up my order and saw what seemed to be a roach crawling around. Was the last time I ordered from there. They need to overhaul their cleanliness before continuing. Still ate that last order though because as I said their chipotle sauce is godly, but can’t ignore the bug presence moving forward.

Update: went back since they said that the roach problem is now gone. Didn’t see a roach, but found metal in my samosa this time. Never going back and I’d recommend you...

I really wanted to give that place a 5* review because the young gentleman who put together my order Sunday evening was really nice, courteous and let me pick my pieces. The chicken was actually quite flavorful and I disagree with whoever wrote that it was flat and just salty. It had a distinct flavor to it, way, way better than Popeyes, crunchier than KFC but not quite better than KFC in terms of flavor IMO. Unfortunately the reason this is a 2* review is the fact the fried breaded chicken liver was extremely raw. Not cooked at all all through. Every single piece of liver was red and oozing with blood on the inside. Simply unacceptable and it's too bad because the chicken was really good with a unique, distinct flavor.
