The Hamilton Convention Center by Carmens did an amazing job with our wedding. There was not once single detail left unattended. Our guests had raving reviews of the venue and food. The serving staff the day of our wedding were friendly, fast, courteous, attentive and willing to bend over backwards to make everything perfect for us and our guests. Service for every course was on time, the food was hot and delicious. The hall, lounge and terrace were all decorated beautifully and exactly how we had envisioned.
Laura our co-ordinator throughout the planning stages was amazingly patient and helpful. She met with us multiple times go over every detail of our special day. On the day of our wedding she was there to make sure everything was perfect. She took care of every last detail to ensure that we as Bride and Groom could sit back and enjoy our reception.
Mark the day of co-Ordinator for our wedding was attentive, thoughtful and efficient. He took care of any request we made quickly and with care. The evening ran smoothly and every single guest left happy.
Susan our head table server was the best. She made sure we had everything we needed. She was friendly and perceptive. She made sure the Bride and Groom and entire wedding party were happy and well fed.
The bar staff worked quickly and kept all of our guests happy. They worked with speed for hours but always with a smile.
Todd the dj was excellent. The music was perfect, and every obscure song choice was found and played. He stuck to our play and do not play list, as well as our timeline. He worked well to co-ordinate with our MC. And kept our guests happily dancing...
Read moreHaving visited as a kid I never had high expectations. Living Rock's soupfest fundraisers were always good though, and the venue staff attentive.
This weekend I was in the building for an industry conference. Everything was clean. The bathrooms sparkled and we appreciated the gender neutral options on the second floor. The new sound system rocks and having walked all over the entire place all weekend while carrying a lot - I can attest to a combo of high quality/comfy flooring options, and decent accessibility. The centrally located escalators are great, there are some ramp options as well as stairs. Door entrances are wide for larger spaces - but installing hydraulic openers, and or accessible buttons to open them for people with mobility issues.
In the smaller conference rooms - having some lighter weight chairs, positioned at the back would help for people who needed extra leg room, had kids along etc. The chairs are sturdy but very heavy.
The main door is broken, I'm sure it will be fixed at some point.
The food and catering services were excellent. They had lots of options for dietary restrictions.
I hope our conference is at the same...

Firstly, the waiters didn’t provide enough bread for the table. When I politely asked for more, one of the waiters got upset with me, which I found unnecessary and unprofessional.
Later, I really needed to use the bathroom and tried to ask a passing waiter for directions. As soon as I said “Excuse me,” she interrupted and said, “You need to talk to a different waiter, I’m not your waiter,” without even hearing my question. That response was rude and made me upset because I hadn’t done anything wrong—I just needed help finding the washroom.
On top of that, the air conditioning was extremely high. It was so cold that my family and I are still sneezing today.
Lastly, about an hour after I asked for the bread, dinner was served. The same waiter served everyone at my table except my family. We waited around 15 minutes for our meals because she served other tables before coming back to us. I found that confusing—shouldn’t you finish serving one table before moving...
