Ordered dinner for 2 and a few others. Went to pick it up, thought the bag seemed light. Got home it was a dinner for 1. Called them to let them know and all I got was attitude from the girl on the phone that she heard wrong and we needed to pay the difference. (Which we had no issues paying for) was told I should have known by the price that it was wrong? Every time we have ordered here the price is different so we didn’t question it. Cheese Rangoon had no cheese in it, we advised her this she didn’t care. Was told to come back quick as they close at 9. Told her I was 4 mins away. When I gave feedback that since the parents left the restaurant, food has been terrible, sizes smaller, prices getting higher (which we expect from Covid) but we cannot let this happen and customer service go and food tastes go down, the girl on the phone decided to yell at me and tell me her parents were in India. Ok thanks. I thought you were one of the owners kids as we always deal with them. When I got back to the restaurant they still hadn’t started cooking our food, I had to wait for it, after I heard the girl yell in the back for it, and then the cook scream at her in Asian. I still wasn’t offered an apology or a discount of some kind. Will not be back. This place has made a steady decline since the parents retired. Every time we order is a disaster, food is cold, can’t delivery, something we want is out of stock, etc. we Live in the area have been ordering for years, have cut back because of part hiccups. Will go back to Engs and Pay the extra $$$ for decent service and food. Will continue to tell our neighbours in the area about this experience as well. If I could give 0...
Read moreWe had a variety of dishes (General Tao Chicken, Orange Chicken, Szechaun Lo Mein, Chicken Lo Mein, Shanghai Noodles, S+R Chicken Balls, Lemon Chicken, Beef + Broccoli, Special Fried Rice, Spring Rolls, Chow Mein, probably missing one or two dishes). Everything was edible and looked good, but it was honestly very bland. The Orange Chicken, General Tao Chicken and Szechaun noodles were supposed to be spicy, they were not spicy at all. My wife (who has trouble with black pepper at times, to give you an idea of her spice tolerance) had no issues eating any of these dishes. I honestly couldn't really tell the difference between the General Tao and Orange Chicken other than the General Tao having some seeds sprinkled on top. The Noodles were dry, as was the various meat in the dish (chicken, BBQ pork). The fried rice was alright, still on the bland side. The Orange Chicken, General Tao, and Szechaun Lo Mein were listed as Chef Specialties on the menu. As you can see, I was pretty disappointed with all of these dishes. Everything else was pretty standard, if not extra bland compared to other Chinese food places I've tried in the past. While Chinese food options in this city aren't all that great in general, I would look elsewhere...
Read moreService was rude (turned up at 6:30pm for 6:30pm pick up) and shouted at as I entered by an employee that only two are allowed in at a time. Now I get the COVID protocols and accept that BUT there were three customers inside as I turned and left. This left me with no way of communicating that I was there to pick up the order. Or did it? I called the number was answered and told to please hold! Before being taken off hold two customers had left so I switch of my call and entered at 7:40. I got my order paid for it and was leaving as the employee picked up the phone to speak to a caller on hold - there was no caller as that would have been me!
I am stating all this so that you can partially understand my low rating - the staff are clearly overwhelmed and unable to handle all of the necessary responsibilities - they need help in terms of additional resources or an improved ordering system.
All of the above would be OK if the food was at least on par with expectations. It was not. I do not recommend eating from this establishment. We had three different main courses and one starter and none of us enjoyed any of them (Beef, Shrimp and Vegetarian dishes). The Chicken Wings starter was the worst my daughter...
