This location has been more disappointments then pleasures that i can tell you about, both inside the restaurant and through the drive thru i have had very bad experiences ranging from rude employees and managers to missing items and cold food. i always say to myself or anyone that is with me at the time that's it i am never going to that McDonalds again then that craving starts before i can stop myself im on my way... I talk myself into turning into that same McDonalds I swore I would never go back to. On Superbowl Sunday I ordered 5 big Mac combos all large sized fries all with coke and 2 cheeseburgers no onions....pretty simple right? NOPE I went thru the drive thru and it cost me just under 70 dollars and that is a good chunk of change for some food...I pay the girl and she was happy be bopping around getting it done.. at the next window here come the 5 drinks so far so good we can hear them laughing and fooling around thru the closed window it opens and out comes the first bag so far 2 big Macs 2 fries and they are hot...wait but a few seconds out comes the next bag open it up good n hot and can see a box and then just as she is checking the cheeseburgers come out and I say everything in the bag... yeah it's all there may I have salt and ketchup sure no problem I asked are the straws in the bag? she then got annoyed I already told you did you not listen geez and shut the window.. so I thought well all the food is there.. nope we are missing 2 big Macs and a fry and my friend just left in the car...so I call and ask to speak to a manager thinking maybe they would uber it down since it was clearly their mistake...the manager was rude and said I could have an apple pie next time I come in and get the missing 2 big Macs and a fry from my order... only half of my food is here can an employee or yourself deliver it when it isn't too busy? He said I should have checked my bags better I said no your employees should have done their job and made sure everything was in the bags he said for me not to tell him how to do his job and that he didn't have time for this and hung up on me after 3 calls back I still never got my food and no one at that McDonalds cared enough to follow up on a formal complaint I made to the head office and I still only received an extra apple pie. Each and every time we go thru the drive thru you can bet your last loonie that they forgot to give you something 95% of the time and it's no better if you actually walk yourself into that location either. The people that are in that McDonalds is usually a bunch of teenagers or so it seems being disruptive, rude and very loud 8 spilt a pop. They use straws and napkins to shoot spit balls at customers they throw ice and spill garbage all over the place. They make fun of elderly or people that may not be dressed as nice as themselves and depending on what time of the day/night it is depends on what kind of trouble is brewing....it really is not a good experience for anyone and I'm sure that includes the employees. I don't think I have ever been in that location and found the dining area free from garbage or spilled pop/food...the condiment section usually has no napkins, the ketchup dispenser is broken or empty...but there are a few people that work there that really do try and work hard to pick up the slack of others and for them I feel badly that I only gave 2 stars. I find the Barton and Lottridge McDonald's to be one of the worst ones locations. I worked at McDonald's when I was 15 til 17 at the Upper Gage and Mohawk location so even tho it was way back when we actually cooked our burgers on a grill, packaged Big Macs in styrofoam containers and cones were 25 cents all the time I still had good work ethics and treated the customer with respect...starting wage was $2.10 per hour.....wow those...
Read moreI’m from Toronto and drove into the city. So I order a Arch combo. I’m told to wait in a parking spot and after 5 or so minutes I get my food. When about to eat the burger I notice the bread on the bottom is rock hard.
Ofcourse I turn around and mention it to the staff. Politely I wait again another 5 minutes and I’m given a bag with a new burger. Ok people make mistakes and make sandwiches with hard bread… ok So before leaving I mention for the fact of turning back around and waiting x2 I should get something complimentary from the restaurant….. right?!?!
So when I ask the young lady who gave me the bag she say “I don’t know.” I ask to speak to the manager. A bald gentleman came and I’m sure the worker told him when she called him but I mention to him that I waited in line x2 and even had to turn around.
His first reply was… “well you got your burger right?!?”
So I mention to him isn’t the normal procedure if a customer has to come back or if there are any issues with food shouldn’t we get something complimentary.
This guy says “oh you want*something?”” Well what do you want? if you want something we can give you something” 😒
His emphasis was on the fact that I was asking* for something making me sound like I just came for free food. “We went back and fourth for awhile and as a manager I’m surprised he took this approach. I actually had to say that im not asking you for free food, the restaurant should be offering something for my troubles. He continued to repeat “if you want something for free you can have it” after I kept saying that you guys should offer something.
He seemed upset and very sarcastic and after he gave me the apple pie he said “take it”. “ that’s what you want right “
As a manager his attitude was very poor and for his poor service he made me feel as if I just went there for a free handout rather than manning up and fixing his crews mistake.
How do you make a sandwich and not realize the bread is freezer burned?? And why go back and fourth with a customer making them feel like they are petty for getting something extra when they wait x2 and they waste gas coming back.
This manager needs retraining on basic customer service. I worked fast food years ago and even worked drive thru. He might of thought I was clueless on knowing it was his duty to fix the problem respectfully.
Just some advice for this manager
How about next time using…
“ we are sorry we inconvenienced you by messing up your order, we threw a coupon in the bag for you” Or…. “We threw in an Apple pie, cookie or even fries for you”
Is this not the regular procedure??
I wouldn’t even of wrote this review if this arrogant manager didn’t try making me feel guilty for being treated like a respected customer who was...
Read moreI'm absolutely disgusted in the customer service that I received today. Wednesday April 22nd 5:15 p.m. I went to the drive-thru to get a Big Mac combo and some french fries. Specifically instructed that I wanted ketchup for my fries. No problem I pay for my food close to $20. Go to the next window the lady told me to sit in reserved parking number one so I did another young lady came to the window gave you my food and quickly I checked to make sure the ketchup was in and sure enough the ketchup was missing. This only took a sec because there was only two things in the bag so by the time I turned around the lady was still by my side door I asked about ketchup she started walking quickly to the inside of the building I said it even louder and I know for sure she heard me say that were missing ketchup and she still went inside. I shut my car off and went into the establishment in order to retrieve ketchup. When I was there I was greeted by the most unprofessional and rude person I've ever met in any industry not just fast food I tried to say that my order was wrong and she wanted me to go back into the drive-thru line with 20 cars thick are ready. I don't know about you but I just spent $20 on a meal that I now have to eat cold because they neglected to put ketchup in the bag. I was trying to explain to her all I needed was ketchup she told me to go through the drive-thru so I started to knock on the windows to try to get another employee's attention maybe thinking that this one girl was having a bad day. Nobody came to the front door for ketchup or to ask me what was wrong with my customer service. Forced to Google the phone number in order to get in contact with a manager while my food is getting cold by the way. In order to say that they're missing catch up and I was told once again to go in the Drive-Thru line up and that they would not accept any returns. I don't know why I have to pay top dollar for cold food number one second the woman who came to the door was very rude..This is not the wat you...
