I've been living in the vicinity of this franchise for the last 5 years. I have eaten there probably twice a month on average over that time, mostly drive through.
There are a few problems at this location that I have noticed over this time, and to be fair, most of these items are a general trend common amongst the McDonald's franchises in Southern Ontario:
Order accuracy is abysmal at the drive through. I estimate that my order is wrong or something is missing more than 90% of the time, sometimes it's a straw, sometimes the fries are the wrong size and sometimes an entire item is missing.
Waiting 5-15 minutes to order when I eat in, with nobody in line at the counter. Frequently when this is the case, 2-3 staff members are socializing in the kitchen, occasionally with an out-of-uniform employee and the dining room is filthy, especially the floors and the pop station. I can understand employees can be lazy sometimes, but when I see the swing/shift manager sitting in a booth in the dining room texting on their phone while this is the case, I am literally disgusted and often walk out. You should also note that I do not walk in because I have more time than usual, I just do not wait in the drive through because there are already 12 cars in it. You need to stop prioritizing drive-through customers over walk-ins/eat-ins. Your inside service is suffering terribly and if this trend continues, you may as well save yourselves some money and make all McDonalds' drive through only.
Location's registers are not correctly setup for our retail taxes in Ontario. A 2-can-dine coupon for two of their standard combos is supposed to be $6.98 + 13% HST. This works out to $7.88 if you don't upsize or upgrade the combo yet this location charges $8.38. I thought they were mistakenly double charging the GST (5%) but even that only adds up to $8.28. I manually figured the tax on the last 4 orders I placed there and this error was consistent and yet they assure me that I'm wrong and the register is right, effectively telling me that the HST in Ontario is not actually 13%, but closer to 22%. Read moreI stopped in after work one day, and ordered from the kiosk and paid at 8:57 and waited for my order to come up to be served. There were 4 people who had ordered before me on screen, so I knew there would be a bit of a wait. My order had 20 nuggets, because I will re-heat them for future meals and a Big Mac combo. After watching multiple people who were behind me get served and after 12 minutes, I went to the front and asked what the delay was. I was told that the nuggets were delayed and would be ready in 2-3 minutes. So I sat back down, but then saw that my Big Mac was ready so I asked if I could have it then, I received my Big Mac at 9:12, being incredibly hungry, I scarfed it down and went back up to the counter to receive my Nuggets at 9: 16. They were still not ready. I received the nuggets at 9:19 (22 minutes), with the incorrect sauces, had them switch out to the correct condiments. I was obviously very annoyed by this time, and was told by a manager walking by, not to worry as next time I came in, they would give me a free meal. She did not apologize for the wait, nor did she take my name, order number, or give a voucher, so I knew she was simply trying to placate me. On review of the situation, I should have raised my voice and demanded some better service, but this is not generally my personality. An utterly disorganized kitchen! No one was rushing or focused on customer service, especially the front counter cashier. Also the staff were dropping "f" bombs and should have been more professional. In general, the service at McDonald's has slowed significantly since their newly instituted re-organization of the staff...

Walk with me, talk with me.
Imagine it's 1:45 am and you're jonsing some McDoubles with mac sauce and lettuce. You arrive there and ask for said sandwiches. They ring them through then a light bulb goes off. "I want some nuggets" he proclaimed! "A 10 piece, no sauce." Total comes to 48 dollars and you think to yourself "this can't be!" So you remove the nuggets and proceed to the window. The lady states my total. "that will be 39.80" disgruntled, confused and almost betrayed, I stated "how so? Can you break that down for me?" She states "3.29 per sandwich, plus $1.99 extra for lettuce and mac sauce" appalled, I tell her to remove the mac sauce and charge me for regular mcdoubles, because I will be darned to spend 12.20 for a few tablespoons of sauce and a fist full of lettuce. Just be the old hamburgeler up to his goofy tricks again. So a quick roll of the eyes from the manager when she realized she didn't pull a fast one on me. I get my food and return back to my domicile to consume my golden arches. I open the first wrapped to reveal not at all what I had ordered, being just a cheeseburger with one singular patty. I shake my fist at the air and exclaim "darn you Ronald!" Continue opening each wrapper to inspect each flat pressed "value" item. I reveal 3 single pattied burgers and 3 mcdoubles. I have been defeated by the hamburgeler and his golden arch possee. Until we meet again, this review will have to suffice as the only bit of payback in the foreseeable.
