A Sub restaurant with four microwaves and no toaster oven. I ordered a meatball sub and was unpleasantly surprised when they wanted to microwave it. Disgusting. I ended up getting the super sub instead and had to bring the uncooked meatball sub home to prepare properly later. The super sub portion size is good for the cost, but the ingredients were mediocre and the bacon was of course microwaved. I was pleasantly surprised by their spicy sauce though. Don't buy hot subs here. And honestly they shouldn't even offer them on the menu when they only have microwaves. The cold subs are decent for cheap food though. There are better sandwich options in Hamilton and I wouldn't recommend Paradise Subs.
Edit in response to owner - I was not told it would be microwaved prior to ordering. It only came up after the sub was assembled at which point it was apparently too late to walk out. As for killing your vibe, we were completely polite to your staff. If you took offence to my bafflement at your microwave subs and my hesitancy to pay you for that, you should consider the following. Serving decent food is your job, not having a super sunshine time. If you can do both, great. But try cooking properly first and not ripping off your customers. Go to Costco and drop a hundred on a toaster oven. P.S. commenting on my username is hilariously petty. You run a business, have some class.
Edited again with photo proof of the insults they deleted from their reply. When any other business gets a bad review they either accept that it's the reality of doing business and ignore it, or they make a generic apology to save face and move on. This guy went right for...
Read moreI absolutely LOVE this sub shop! No glitz and glam, just damn good, old school subs made with quality ingredients by an awesome couple that are passionate about their products. Dan and Kyla are definitely our vibe. They are very easy to have conversation with. I'd definitely come back here (from Kitchener) to hang out with them while enjoying a sub. Walking into this restaurant brought me back to my school days. Fresh sub bun sliced in half, the long strip of cheese that perfectly covered the bun, the lettuce that is chopped really thin (very important for coverage) and generous amounts of meat... perfection. I ordered the philly cheesesteak and my wife ordered the club. Both footlongs, a chocolate milk and a water for $20.88. I challenge you to find a better deal. Just goes to show that if you support local, you get better bang for your buck. Can't wait to go back tomorrow.
EDIT We came back. My wife had a full Pizza Sub ($4.89) and I went with the full Super Sub ($9.99) Enough for 2 meals each. Extreme value and can't emphasize enough how awesome the owners are. Do yourself a favor and...
Read moreWe were visiting from out of province and wanted to try a local place instead of a chain restaurant. The reviews were great so we thought we'd try it. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The staff did not wear hair nets (and there ended up being a hair in one of our subs), and the worker (who seemed like he may be the manager) continually made fun of the rather plain subs ordered by a few members of our family. When I asked what meats were in the "Mixed" sub, he answered "the same as there's always been in the last 100 years", which didn't actually answer my question and was just rude. The restaurant was relatively clean (the restroom was not) but could use some updating. The bread was good but the sandwich didn't taste any better than something I could make at home. The prices were great, but that's really the only positive thing about our experience. If we come back to Hamilton, we won't be...
