IN REPLY: Ok .... "Pretended crab" -- you are missing the entire point. Your menus do not match. The physical menu you give people at your restaurant does NOT say anything but CHEESE. Regardless of whether it is real or not, it does not say it. It ONLY says it online.
IMITATION CRAB , not pretended crab, ... and again, whether it tastes real or not isn't in question here. There is no confusion where I am concerned. Your menus at the restaurant aren't accurate. Correct them. The end.
This restaurant is a typical Vietnamese restaurant and the food was delicious. Will we visit again? I don't think so ... here's why:
We ordered the Cheese Wonton off the menu at the restaurant. We get the Cheese Wontons and my husband takes a bite and I take a bite - only to discover that there is crab in the wonton. I call over the server to let him know that the menu doesn't have crab written in the description on the menu ( it is written online though) and my husband is allergic to shellfish. It's a slight allergy and he was fine -- but what if it was someone else with a serious allergy and they went into anaphylactic shock?!?!?
I told the server he needs to make the manager or owner aware of this and fix it asap. The server smiled politely and said he would tell the owner. I said great .... because you know that someone could potentially die over something like this. And he smiled politely and repeated himself.
TRUST is crucial when you are going to a restaurant, paying money for food. You trust that what you are ordering is in fact what you will get. I DO NOT trust that this was taken seriously ..... No manager came to speak with us and we were still charged for the appetizer.
All I can say is that there is another Pho place down the road from these guys and I'm just going to...
Read moreA wonderful place that you might pass by because it is in a strip mall, and the building may have previously been a fast food restaurant. But do not let the first impression throw you off! Inside, it is comfortable and the service is friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive while still focusing on Vietnamese food. I went with my wife and my mother, who is vegan, in part because I knew we would all get something we liked. We were offered tea and water, and were given extensive refills of each. My wife had a papaya salad that was bright and crunchy, with some sneaky hot chilis that really made it pop, as well as delicious avocado rolls with a rich peanut dipping sauce. My mother had stir-fried vegetables and tofu, and declared it the best tofu she's ever had. I had the house special pho, which was wonderful, hearty, and plentiful, and came with a huge helping of the usual garnishes (basil, beansprouts, chilis). My wife also had the fried banana for dessert and giggled happily through the entire thing. All in all, a fantastic experience. You can choose inexpensive options here, or go all out, and either way you won't be disappointed. I only regret that I did not take any pictures, but I was too busy enjoying the wonderful food. We...
Read moreThis is our favourite restaurant in Stoney Creek. We come back all the time. Honestly, the place doesn't look like much and some servers are more attentive than others. But the food is to die for! We're vegan, so we can't comment on the meat dishes, but the vegan Pho and the mock beef with vegetables and noodles are our standard choices, and every other dish we've had was also great. Not once did we have any complaints due to the taste of the food, and that's why we keep coming back.
I gotta say though, they don't make it easy to order online! I tried that tonight (usually we dine in) and ordering through their website wasn't possible due to an error with a code that had to be sent through text (never received the code), and when I called to place an order on the phone I was told that I had reached a full voicemail box that could not receive any more messages.
So whoever runs the restaurant should really take care of these issues asap! But whoever runs the kitchen will always have...
