Expectation: You place an online order, arrive in time for pick up, pick it up, drive home, enjoy delicious juicy chicken and mmm biscuits
Reality: You place an online order, arrive in time for pickup, there is one guy working and 2 groups of walk-in customers. He didn't even start preparing your order. He prints it out after asking your order number and starts preparing it. Zero communication so you have to guess that it's you order being prepared and have to wait for an undisclosed amount of time.
15 minutes later the order is ready, you get the pop cup with ice and straw in wrapper sticking out of it. The lid is nowhere to be seen. You remove the wrapper, fill the cup, ask for a lid. Pick up your order, discover that one item is missing, ask for said item, receive it, leave. The food is scorching hot so you can't take a bite while you drive.
Get home, try the chicken, it's crunchier than Pringles but the chicken inside is drier than Sahara famine. You can't even finish the second bite. This place used to have decent chicken but now it's gone, if you can tell fried chicken from deep fried cardboard - stay away.
When you finish the pop you discover the lid tucked inside the cup.
I added the second star because it's still hard to screw up...
Read moreI'm a Popeye's fan going back to when I was a Ryerson student eating at Popeyes on Yonge Street in the 80's. I've had Popeyes from the Burlington franchise on Brant St last year and it was terrific. We ordered a large meal of Popeye's Chicken, shrimp and all the fixings tonight (delivered) and it was probably the most disgusting fried chicken I've ever had. The skin was really dark brown, like it had been really overcooked, or double cooked, or old cooking fat. And it tasted of shrimp so it made me wonder if they're using the same fat for chicken and shrimp. The shrimp wasn't great, the coleslaw warm and darkish (like it was old). We'll never order from there again, it seems like a poorly run franchise location (from the quality of the food we received).
We tried them again recently (Sept 2022) to see if the location had improved, but no. Chicken was not as good as other franchises, and we ordered and paid for breasts but...
Read moreWhat a waste of money. When I got there their wasn't anyone in the store. But you could tell the only 2 employees that were working were busy with online orders. The guy who was running the front didn't even acknowledge me for 5 minutes. I finally had to ask if I could place an order
Once I got my food and fountain drink I left and went home. The drink was 100% garbage. Obviously the machine had run out of most of the syrup so it was gross "pop" water. Then when I opened my food which was supposed to be a 3 piece combo (that's what I paid for) only had 2 pieces of dry chicken in it. Obviously been sitting in the warmer for a while. And I ordered an extra biscuit which was missing.
I'm not driving all the way back there. But seriously. It's not rocket science.
You want fried chicken. Just drive down the street to hello iris. I won't be back to this popeyes location. It's a...
