I can’t even believe the bad customer experience I just had from Queens Pizza and Wings on Queen St.wings I have always liked their pizza, close to home, usually quick, nice and easy. Right? A few days ago we ordered pizza from here and after waiting longer than usual, the pizza arrived. I paid the guy, with tip of course, and went inside to eat cheesy goodness. When I got upstairs and opened it I found the pizza was not what we ordered and cold…not even warm. I come from the food industry and understand mistakes happen, so I called to let them know about the cold mistake. The girl who picked up was nice enough and told me that they will credit me and next time to just let them know…no problem, kind of weird that they didn’t send out another pizza or even offer, but no problem, next pizza is free.
That brings us to today, long day, Hey, why not order that free pizza. We call, before ordering remind them of the pizza credit and then place our order for the exact same pizza we were supposed to get last time (that was paid for in full, plus tip) to which they responded that the order wasn’t enough…..Huh? They then said that I have to buy a min. of $13 before tax in order for them to deliver my pizza (that was already paid for, plus tip)
At this point I was getting annoyed but tried to understand…I’ve already paid them for an order that was wrong and cold and in order for them to correct their mistake, I needed to pay more money? To witch I was told “that’s the way it works!” Flabbergasted, I explained that in my life in the service industry, I have never even herd of this an that I don’t think that that is in fact the way it does work.
Her response was quick and unjust, she hung up on me.
I must have ordered from there hundreds of times over the years, but I don’t think I ever will again. I don’t know if this is all very fresh or not, but what they did almost feels illegal. In a time when food insecurity is at an all time high and people are struggling to make ends meet, this business is charging customers for their mistakes. This type of behaviour should not...
Read moreI live just around the corner from Queen's Pizza and Wings so I end up getting take-out from here more often than I would like to admit. It's pretty decent and the price is right (especially when you are getting the pick up only specials). Their pizza is pretty fantastic, as long as I remember to order "bacon strips" (which is real bacon cut into pieces) instead of "bacon" (which is crumbly bacon bits) as a topping. The garlic bread is good if you order extra cheese and butter on it or maybe ask for it to be cooked less, but otherwise the outside is way too dry and I only end up eating the very centre. Really, it's just something that comes with the special and I would never order it on it's own but it's OK. The wedges are good. The garlic dipping sauce is fantastic so you should order extra or ask to have that instead of the blue cheese dressing that comes with the veggie sticks. I really like the wings, but they're nothing special and I could see why other people wouldn't like them... they're kinda like breaded boxed wings dipped in Frank's Red Hot sauce that get way too moist from being put hot into a closed Styrofoam container... which can be fixed by putting them in the toaster oven for a few minutes to crisp them to perfection. Really, it's a pizza place... not a wing place. (I have no idea why it's in the name... it's definitely not their specialty. If you want good wings, go to Ray's Boathouse on Dundurn.) Or an anything-else-on-the-menu place really... they just have that for variety and it's mostly all just acceptable. For me though, it's super convenient and reasonably priced and when I don't feel like making my lazy ass some decent dinner, this is my go-to alternative. I've been going here fairly often for over 5 years and I've never had a bad meal. It's a solid and consistent 4 stars. Definitely recommend. (I was serious though... make sure you order the bacon strips instead of just bacon on...
Read moreWe've been trying to find a good local Pizza place with does a fair priced pizza/wings/pop deal that we loved. We found Queens and at first it was fantastic. The pizza we absolutely loved. Loved the wings. How ever always disappointed by their "Garlic bread" But never really bothered us as that was a bonus. Regardless, you should at least SLICE the loaf of bread in half and put garllic butter on it. every time we receive A loaf of bread not even cut. Thanks for the bread I guess?
Would also like to note, we highly suspect the company had come to our personal home the following day after another bad order again. and leaving a mild review. Under pretense of offering a "pizza promotion " but only going to our apartment. No one else. then leaving when we declined without opening the door. I really hope this isn't true; how ever I do highly think it is from what was heard and what happened. This makes me extremely uncomfortable for the safety of me and my family. To know that they possibly are pulling up past orders with peoples personal information and basically stalking the customers at their very personal residents without having placed an order for them to be at the residences. I will never use this place again.
We've ordered several times thinking eh. maybe a new guy or simple human mistake. its a one off and their wings and pizza is great. lets try again! But its now come to the point we ALWAYS have something missing. Every single time. Entirely missing all wings, Next time the completely wrong pizza, third time missing all 6 cans of pop. Sure yeah we get a refund from the app. But you know what I'd like? The dinner we ordered to feed our family. We order what will feed our family. suddenly not having what was planned means not enough food. it has nothing to do with us getting the money back. It has to do with getting the food we are paying for.
Never again giving a company multiple...
