We have been to this location three times now. The first time I went with a friend. I had the veggie burger which had a turmeric sauce that somehow tasted like nothing? Suffice to say I didn’t finish it and the waitress did not ask any questions and although it’s her job, I did not point out that I didn’t enjoy it either. The second time I went I tried the fajitas and they had no flavour.. none of it. Not the veggies, not the rice, nothing. My partner had chicken wings and said they were subpar but not terrible. We mentioned it to the server and she apologized and gave the fajitas to us for half price. The third time we went was yesterday. It took forever for our server to come over and when we asked for more time she must have thought we needed 20 minutes. My partner had the chicken and goat cheese salad and enjoyed it and the kids do enjoy the pasta but it’s pretty hard to mess up pasta noodles and sauce. I ordered the whipped feta and I mean u can compare the menu photo to the real thing.. it is in no way whipped. It actually tasted and looked like Caesar salad dressing. The server did ask if I wanted an alternative and brought me a menu and gave me another 20 minutes to decide but in the end I declined. No way was I paying $25 for something I likely wouldn’t have enjoyed. Would not recommend going here.

Bland, flavourless and uninspired. This is not a criticism of our server Lauren who was exceptional and would thrive in any environment, I'm certain. It's a review of mediocre, overpriced food that you could easily make better at home, which unfortunately has been a consistent issue across the TJ's brand since their inception. We were miles from home, it was late, the kids were hungry and there weren't many non-fast food options available along our route. Our kids had pizza and soggy fries that could easily be surpassed by any school cafeteria. My wife had spinach dip, which may as well have come from a can at a quarter of the cost. And I had a braised short rib pasta that was completely lacking in flavour. To top it off, they charged extra for two minuscule pieces of stale garlic toast that was days old and hard to chew. All this for an astonishing $103 plus tip. Dining out should be an experience, with food that is thoughtfully prepared by chefs who take pride in their creations using fresh ingredients and bold unique flavours. In contrast, the food at Turtle Jack's always seems as if minimal effort was put into its preparation. This is not the first time I've been disappointed with a visit to Turtle Jack's, but you can bet it will be the last.

Last evening we stopped here for supper. Located just off the QEW at Fifty Road exit and right across from the LCBO store in the Winona Crossing Plaza. Lots of free parking. My wife enjoyed the fish Taco with a side salad which she found delicious. I had a beef dip with french fries and the whole meal was the best ever. Our server Erin was very helpful in explaining the menus as this was are first time at this restaurant. The manager, Brendan asked how are meal was and we could not say enough good things and everything was delicious. Staff were very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We were provided with their butter tart topped with a scoop of ice cream and Carmel sauce. It was to die for. This is a must have should you visit this restaurant.

UPDATE for this review ..Manager contacted me said he wanted to make things right. So he decided not me... he offered to send a 100 gift card to me I didnt even care about that thats not why I did the review as negative as I did..he asked for an address I gave it to him in the e mail..but of course he never did send it...Dont say your going to do something and turnnaround and dont do it..typical bad management . I will continue to bash this establishment to all I know since they really didnt care about trying to make anything right to be honest ..Manager is just as out to lunch as their bar servers. ....So I went to this Turtle Jack's way back in the first month they started up in Winona . Decided it wasn't for us at the time as they have The Keg prices for a roadhouse style feel....way to expensive for everything food and drink ...now moving ahead to today years later.. yesterday my sister and I met in the area she said haven't been to Jack's since they opened let's head there for drinks this was around 2pm in the afternoon as it was close..Happy hour drinks etc not even close to any type of bargain ..draught is pretty well the same price with maybe a buck off..Compared to all the other restaurants of this caliber in the area there happy hour with great deals ...theirs isn't really a happy hour to be honest ..No deal to be found here....will be the 2nd time and last time at this place. Bar and wait staff as well seem to spend more time chatting in a secretive way to each other for mins and mins on end with expressions to each other like they are in a union meeting . Non attentive staff who seem like they just don't want to be there. Not the most friendliest group I have seen working in the restaurant business either. 3 girl hostesses working the front door ...why?... just yapping for hours on end..Dont know who manages this place but they need a 3 out of 10 on their next performance review as this restaurant is just a cold non friendly atmosphere with over priced drinks and food. Would never recommend this place to anyone . I find it hard to believe there are any positive reviews on this location but it seems there are ..go figure. They must be friends of staff..gotta be. Couldn't pay me to walk in...

I'd love to say that this experience was amazing just as every other time I've been in the past year (Mapleview mall Burlington location) but this location was easier for my family to all meet at to celebrate a family birthday. And I'm sad to say it wasn't my most favourite. I'm not one to write a review but I did bring my concern to the waitress, who fixed it immediately (and she was incredible on the waitress end of things, so thank you Abbey) but my sister and I had to wait even longer for our meals, where as the rest of our family was basically done eating already. My tried and true for the main was the "hunters chicken", makes my mouth water just thinking about it. However, my sister and I, whom ordered the same meal because of my raving about it being so good, were immediately disappointed as soon as our meals were placed in front of us. We had a party of 9, so it took the kitchen a bit to make our meals, which is understandable, but when ours were presented, every single vegetable was raw. Just raw cut carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, and the pearl onions were raw as well. I questioned the waitress of why they're raw. (I have braces and cannot munch down on raw veggies without risking breaking a bracket) the waitress quickly took the meals away and got the veggies "cooked". My sister and I both found half "cooked" and half raw veggies throughout each of our individual dishes. The onions we couldn't eat as they were basically raw crunchy onions and no one wants that. They're usually cooked enough to melt in your mouth. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and sad when we left. (My sister and I are moms and don't get out much, so this was so looked forward too ) Everything else was great but if you want the hunters chicken, make sure the chef, remembers to cook the veg. Rather than serve it all raw and disappoint you.

Thanks kindly for the chance to...

Almost all of the appetizers we ordered were not available because, according to our server, " we had a very busy day," so we ordered two calamari appetizers, once they arrived we had to send a tray back because they were extremely overcooked/burnt. The wings were fine, I asked for Ghost sauce on the side, and I was told that it was made in house. Not only was it no stronger than any sauce you find in a supermarket, but I also had to remind our server that the manager/person in charge forgot my sauce!

One member of our party ordered a burger and another fish. The burger was burnt, and the fishes batter was so fried to a crisp that it looked like a chicken finger. The burger went back, and when the manager asked why the person did not like the fish, instead of explaining the obvious that this unattentive manager did not notice that the fish looked and tasted disgusting, she just replied she didn't like it. The manager said something to the effect that she can't control someone's tastes. Ignoring the fact the fish looked like it came from the Black Lagoon. She did give us $80 off the bill, but when you are paying a PREMIUM PRICE for food (appropriately $17-18 for a burger ) you expect it to be cooked properly!

As we paid our bill, our lovely waitress had another table with two gentlemen in their 50's or 60's send their food back too!

We were all extremely disappointed from the beginning to the final bill! This place needs a manager/ shift supervisor with better people skills and who pays attention to the dishes served.

Also, the cook in the kitchen did not notice the food was extremely overcooked/burnt?

We won't be back.

Signed, The Starving Party of 5. 😥

P.S. There is nothing you can do to...
