Pho May — Restaurant in Hamilton

We ate here early on a Friday night. We were quickly seated but had to wait for the menus, there were none on the tables. Service was fair - she was quiet, polite, but not especially friendly or welcoming. I ordered the lemongrass beef dinner combo because the big picture in the window looked so appetizing. The mixed vegetable soup had lots of vegetables but no flavor. The spring roll that comes with the combo was very bland. The lemongrass beef was just beef and onion with steamed rice No nice presentation with fresh lemon grass like in the picture. My partner ordered the shrimp pad thai with medium spice. The shrimp were big but he said it was the worst pad thai he had ever had. Tjey do have several vegan choices on the menu though We have eaten at many Vietnamese restaurants and this one ranks at the very bottom of the list. We tried Pho Huy for the first time pick up as we live close by and they are new. Its an Asian fusion restaurant, not Vietnamese. I have been to Vietnam many times for work and love pho and vermicelli. Firstly there is no pork on the menu! what???? Not sure how you can have Asian cuisine without pork. If they are halal/kosher they should advertise that. We tried the beef vermicelli. Terrible. Almost no fresh vegetables in it and the beef was heavy in onions, so its really an onion vermicelli. A good Vietnamese vermicelli should taste fresh and light, and this was heavy and greasy. Spring roll tasted odd, maybe because the had beef in them? My son said his Pad Thai was just OK and found it odd there were shredded carrots in it. There are several good Vietnamese and Thai places in Stoney Creek and we will just continue to drive a...

I had an excellent dining experience at Pho May! I believe the new owners took over very recently so it was excellent here. I was greeted very kindly by the young lady working and was able to order what I wanted by either ordering and paying first, or I could pay first then sit and eat.

I was able to sit anywhere in the restaurant and the seats are very cute! Theres booth options as well as chairs/booths near the entrance.

The food came almost 5-10 minutes after I ordered. I got the vegetable pad thai which had vegetarian friendly ham and cooked tofu. It was so fresh and flavourful, had a kick of spice too!
