Dead mussels on my plate. Running the risk of food poisoning/ intoxication or even dying, if I could give 0 stars, I would. As we went in, at 8:07pm for dinner the server , drops all menus on the table and walks away, second server ( Rachel A) comes in takes our order and says if you guys don't finish you bottle of wine we can put the cork back on and you take it away. It's kind of rushing us out. The food is the worst ever, linguini a la carbonara, very granny when the sauce is supposed to be creamy, cheesy, and runny. The linguini fruti de mare came with dead mussels, a really risky situation. The whole time, nobody came around to check on us. The only good thing about what we ate was the bruscheta and the wine. I called the manager, who says his name is (Mike, no name tag) and explained what happened and the way we were served. He dealt with this situation by taking 50% of one of one of the plates and by removing thevother, and that was the end of this traumatic dinner experience.
To the Owner, things you should improve....
1-Customers are paying to be served properly, not to spread their own plates and cutlery on their tables. 2- Customers should never be rushed out. 3- Food should be inspected before served on to the tables, specially mussels, if they continue closed after they been boiled, they are dead and full of mud, should not be served at any point, avoiding food poisoning and potentially deaths. 4- Servers should check on customers more often or at least once before the end of the meal. 5- Criticism should be taken as advice to improve your services and avoid potential harm to business and the...
Read moreMy first experience was unfortunately meh. I was the most suprised at the cost to value. Wanted something light. Went with a cesar salad. I'd have to say, I've had a better one served through a drive through. Their was absolutely nothing special about it. And for 12$ I think their should of been. It was only 4 ingredients. Lettuce, parm, baon bits, dressing. And like a list of ingredients. Its most to least. Honestly, their was alot of lettuce. Amount of parm was totally acceptable. YES it was real bacon, but it was way more chewy than crunch and an okay dressing. But each compared to another. It's as if it was made by someone who was told what was in a cesar sald. But had never seen one. Most suprising, not a single crouton. I'm almost positive that croutons are a staple for Cesar salad.
Add a little salt, add some pepper, squeese of lemon. Their are more ways to make this better. And at a level I would expect for an Italian restaurant. If this is your normal thing. Then take no offence forget my comments. I guess my standards are "too high". But I left dissapointed, because I could have made a better one at home. And in that case, I can really only say. I felt cheated. I'd say, maybe try to take that item to the next level, or lower the price on it. Because for around eight bucks (for the large), I'd probably just shurg and say, "Meh". I'll be back sometime in the future because the food for the rest of the people was acceptable. But wow.. did I make a mistake...
Read moreWent for a girls night out with the kids. I've been to the Westdale location many times so wanted to visit this one. We were overall happy with things but had some concerns to share with others. On the positive side, the panzerotti (what I usually order) was good as usual, though it seems to be getting smaller and smaller. The cheesecake was also good. We were primarily unhappy with the kids meals. They menu says for 10 and under but the portion size is for 3-6 years old, maximum. I ordered it for a 6 year old and 9 year old. When I saw the penne dish for my 9 year old, I could not believe it. I swear there was maybe 25 noodles in total, so about 7-8 bites? My younger one got spaghetti with meatballs. The two meatballs (which charge $6.50 for) are big but seem to be 75% breadcrumbs and very soft. She did not like them and did not eat them, nor did my niece nor the boy at the next table. The waitress ended taking them off the bill. You can see in the pic that if they meatballs weren't there, there is a pitiful amount of pasta! They should really advise customers on the portion size, or offer two sizes, one for 3-6 and one for 7-10 and charge $2 more for the bigger one. Service was good. We had to get fries to make up for the small amount of pasta for the kids and they enjoyed them. At $5, they were worth it. The room at the back is cold and the bathrooms have no heat whatsoever. We may go back to...
