It was okay, but the flavours were not balanced correctly, in my opinion. The brownie was quite oily (but extremely moist because of that), and didn't have a strong chocolate flavour. The icing was tasteless. The eclair pastry was fresh and homemade tasting, but the icing was super sweet and the filling under sweet. The icing was like chocolate cake icing, not like an eclair icing. The meringues, I tossed after trying. The white one with chocolate chips was way too sweet. The lemon one wasn't, but it wasn't worth eating. I came to this place because of the great ratings and because I wanted to try their sticky buns or cinnamon buns. The sweet buns were not available when I arrived. I hate to give this star level for a bakery's review, but it is my honest opinion. I would try this place again (if I was in the area) to try their sticky buns because I enjoyed their eclair pastry, but I wouldn't rebuy the sweets I already purchased. Products: pies (dessert), pies (dinner) like chicken pot pie, bars, cupcakes, cake, butter tarts, meringues, eclairs, mini cheesecakes, croissants, scones, sticky buns, banana bread, loaves of bread, pop, juice, and water bottles. Dining options: Takeout and --I assume-- pre-order. Tips: If you want a jaw dropping brownie, try Eric the Baker's or Decadently Yours caramel brownie in Guelph. Parking: They have street parking and a parking lot beside it. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a sidewalk in front. See my pics. I forgot to check if they have a wheelchair button. It is completely accessible indoors, no steps inside.

Seriously enjoy driving from Grimsby to this location on a Tuesday, only to see on the door that they’re open… just as their own website says they are! Oh, but what’s this? The door is locked? That makes no sense…. I’ll check the site again to make sure I read it right….yep. Says open. The Door says open on Tuesday and so does their website. Would have been on me, you know, my mistake - but no…. As mentioned, both the door and your website says open.. which is why I drove all that way. What does Google say? Google says closed. Hmmm. That’s weird. May I suggest before changing hours on Google, that you change it on your website and front door first. I had just put money in the meter to be welcomed with a closed door. Two stars for my wasted time.

Weil’s/Isabel did our wedding cake and donuts for our reception. They were outstanding. Isabel was always very prompt in responding to our emails. Isabel executed our vision perfectly. She found florals and greenery that matched our colours to a tee. And of course the Weil’s cakes — carrot cake, lemon cake and vanilla with raspberry buttercream — and donuts were delicious. I can’t get over how light and flavourful the lemon cake and the vanilla cake were and yet still supportive enough for a three tier wedding cake (the proper dowels were inserted in). The raspberry buttercream and raspberry dip donuts especially were so fresh and tasty. Weil’s certainly lived up to their reputation for our wedding. Popped by for our favorite chocolate éclairs this afternoon at around 3:10pm (Wed) the plan was to share a mid afternoon treat. Ordered the éclairs and asked if it could be cut in half? Told politely that they don't do that but will give me a plastic knife. She asked if I wanted the box open or closed. I said open and asked for napkins along with the little knife. Paid and went to the car. My wife cut the eclaire in half and to our surprise the cream filling was FROZEN SOLID!. My wife was unable to eat it. She tried cutting it up but it was a solid mess. She went back into the shop. As if it being unedible was not enough. The girl that served me (after a bit of an excuse that they are always frozen in order for the cream to set?) She then told my wife that she specifically to me that I needed to wait 15 min and allow it to thaw. This is factually untrue. Period. She made no comment to me other then ask if I wanted a receipt. The worst part of this whole thing was the lie about "having told your husband that he needed to wait for it thaw" Had I gone back with the complaint about the solid hunk if frozen cream. The excuses likely would have been different. We have been coming here for over 40 years and to our and their special treat. Too bad!! Since the girl said they are Always frozen! Any one else ever had a frozen on? This...

I've been a loyal customer of Weil's Bakery since I was a small child and could use my allowance to buy a treat there - back in the mid-60's! I now live in Markham and will still go far out of my way to swing by Weil's at every opportunity, usually walking out with a stack of boxes filled with treats, all tied together the old-school way with string, of course. My favourite by far is their chocolate eclairs. I am an eclair afficionado and have tried hundreds of eclairs all over the world, and I still believe Weil's makes the BEST CHOCOLATE ECLAIR BY FAR. Please don't ever EVER change the recipe. Keep the 100% real whip cream and the oh-so-generous layer of American butter-milk chocolate icing on top. (The piping application is new but I'm good with it as I think it provides an even more generous layer than the previous approach!) I will admit that I have am a chocoholic and have a big sweet-tooth, but that's what eclairs are all about. For those who want an anemic eclair that's "not too sweet" with a thin layer of some plasticy low-flavour icing - THEY ARE NOT FOR YOU so don't eat them and then complain. You have been warned. :-) Other favourites include their brownies, chocolate buns, and oak cake cookies, all simply amazing. Thank you Weil's for keeping it real all these 60 years, with I hope many...
