Wimpy's Diner — Restaurant in Hamilton

We haven't been to a wimpy's in a really long time and due to this visit it might be even longer until our next time... We had so many issues with this visit that I was debating even listing them all... My wife ordered garlic bread with cheese to snack on, when it came out the cheese was just sprinkled on the warm bread not melted at all. We sent it back and asked for the cheese to be melted. When it came back it was cleared microwaved, the cheese was all crusted on the outsides and the bread was chewy. We only got one set of cutlery instead of two. My wife ordered wings tossed in sauce, they came with hardly any sauce on them and set on top of a plate of fries so they had the wing sauce all over them. It was missing the ranch dip and when she mentioned it to the waitress she acted like it was our fault for not specifically asking for it when it says that it just comes with it on the menu.... My Burger had a strange smell to it but I didn't notice until I was half way through so I didn't say anything and just didn't eat it. I asked for mayo tomatoes and lettuce....I was worried when the waitress didn't write our order down and I was right to worry...I got mayo ketchup lettuce instead... We waited a very long time to get a refill on our coffees and a very long time to get our bill. It all came to $61 after the tip and I wouldn't want to pay even half that for our experience. Finally while waiting to pay I watched the waitress pull one of the plates towards her from the counter to bring to a table...a piece of toast fell off the plate and into a basket of jams... She quickly just picked it up and put it back on the plate....

Terrible experience and won't be going back anytime soon...

There was a clear lack of quality control the day we went, Feb. 12, 2016 around 3:00. It starter with the kitchen staff putting out unmelted cheese on our non toasted bread. I can't call it garlic bread because there was only butter on it. Then our server putting it in front of us on the table. Looking like it did. I've added pictures where I can for reviews. We sat staring at the lump on food in front of us staff didn't notice or care I don't know which (this is a theme). We had to go to the person taking our order and let them know this was not the experience we had the last time we were at this location and the food was rather different, we tried to describe the toasted with herbs garlic butter and melted cheese but quickly before listening took the frigid away and made an equally not good version again. Due to appointments running along we are eating late in the day so we just ate it anyway normally I would've sent it back again. Though I can tell for fact it wouldn't have changed the quality of the food the people cooking it don't know how to make food they might know the idea of following directions to complete a recipe but not actually how to cook. All three of the meals we ordered were significantly lower quality than we've ever had at Wimpys. Although I think I've only had one decent meal there are we definitely won't be coming back to any Wimpys ever. It's an easy place to take people who have different tastes. Normally it's an acceptable diner food but this one is the last straw the staff didn't even take the failed garlic bread...

It’s rare I get to write a 5/5 review on quality, service, and food. In these times of lockdown I feel the need to especially acknowledge your team because lately at most places we do pickup orders, either the order gets messed up or missing condiments etc. Its far to common where quality and service is suffering in takeout dining. In any case, back to my Wimpy’s experience. Firstly, the young man who works there, excellent service and he knows how to treat customers. I told him what I wanted in my omelette and sides and he somehow made it work for me rather than charging me for multiple dishes. Curbside service upon arrival was also top notch. Moving onto the food, wow. My compliments to cook this morning! We not only loved the food, it wasn’t greasy, the flavours, everything, it was seriously the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. As always the food was plentiful. The one detail that I also admired, and I have to tell you - is that your takeout boxes, the large square sized ones were perfection us! Our house is getting renovated so these small things of takeout containers and packaging makes a big difference when we don’t have access to our home supplies, and so the large square containers you use mad it comfortable for us to eat our meal and store the leftover.
