i was in the mall finishing up a dental appt and decided to look into wok express for a take-out meal.
i usually deal with wok express at center mall (have done so for 10-12 yrs) and i have always been treated well, and their food quality/portion servings have been consistently excellent.
here at the mountain plaza, in all it's 1970's decor glory, i noticed they had some different item offerings compared to center mall. i was told by the server that wok express is a franchise business, and each store is owned by different people.
i ended up getting a rice plus 4 items: bbq chicken, garlic boned chicken, garlic boned ribs, orange chicken.price is 15$ plus tax; $16.95 all-in.
one start knocked off for the portion size. much less meat given here than at center mall. food quality was ok for the rice, bbq chicken, garlic chicken and garlic ribs. orange chicken was dry and hard to chew.
one star knocked off for the server. had to ask questions multiple times, not understanding english, seemed to be annoyed, then tried to charge me 4 item box with only 3 items in, even after i had to explain multiple occasions that i wanted to order and pay for 4 items.
server (older female) had really poor english and people skills. she was polite at best when starting the order, and then answered the phone, no issue, but decided to ignore me as the order was being finished up. i had to ask someone else to get me soya sauce packets for my order.
bottom line: there are other better food places that are more deserving of my wallet being opened up. both from a food quality and customer service standpoint. this wok express location comes across as not being overly concerned with valuing customers, people skills or food quality.
i would not return to wok express @ mountain plaza, even if i was in the area. and i do not recommend wok express @ mountain plaza mall...
Read moreThis place is disgusting. Our company ordered lunch from here and it was terrible. The lo mein was just plain noodles nothing else so we didn't get that. The so called chicken balls consisted of a tiny piece of what resembled chicken and black specks of something inside. The beef/veg was tasted disgusting like the broccoli had gone bad. The lemon chicken was somewhat editable. The only good thing was the egg rolls. Now the service was horrendous. The lady was trying to squash rice plus 3 items into small containers meanwhile large containers sat right there. We had too tell her to use those. She also was trying to make each meal the same. She didn't want to give sauce for the chicken balls. Crammed all the egg rolls into 1 little bag. Then tried putting 4 containers into 1 bag along with the sauce she finally gave for the chicken balls as well as the egg rolls. We had to ask her to put it in 2 bags. She was very rude to us as well. Her service is terrible. All our lunches went into the garbage. Close to $80...
Read moreThe prices change every time I come by? I had two, two item combos. One with broccoli, curry noodles, and lemon chicken. The other combo with lo mein, broccoli and beef. I ordered a side of mushrooms WITH CHICKEN…There was absolutely NO chicken whatsoever in with these mushrooms. Literally sautéed mushrooms with four thin slices of carrot. Each combo was $12.49. I was charged $12.50 for the side of mushrooms with NO chicken. The total cost was $45 even. Who do these people think they are?! The woman with short dark hair is extremely rude.. the owners swindle, hard-working people for extra money, and add extra “PORTION CHARGES” for no extra protein…The food was dry. It did not taste fresh. The owners care so much more about making money, they don’t serve quality food. Honestly, go to...
