This is a wonderful local independent bakery and Cafe. The baked goods are fabulous and lunch met expectations. I had the croissant sandwich with garlic parmesan fries and she had a veggie wrap. Both meals were great. The coffee missed the mark so if you have refined coffee expextations, have a tea instead. There were some fruit flies which detracted from the ambience and the washroom doors could use some TLC. Staff were attentive and friendly, but seemed to lack both training and experience. All of that said, the vibe was delightful; reminding me of a small rural restaurant on the prairies. Everyone knew everyone and everyone was smiling. Grabbing a fresh loaf of baked bread to go was smart and their baker(s) won the day.

I am over the moon impressed with the incredible customer service at The Olde Bakery Cafe! After being very disappointed with the results from another bakery, I was in a pinch last minute and needed to find a replacement dessert for a special private party. When I called, Sue, the owner came to my rescue. She quickly understood exactly what I was looking for and went above and beyond to get them to me on time! The result was presentation perfect! Even though they looked too good to eat, trust me when I say they tasted heavenly!!! Everyone LOVED them! Thank you Sue and staff at The Olde Bakery Cafe!! From now on you will be my “go to” for desserts!!

Great place for lunch. Business meeting or just sa coffee with a friend The food was definitely very tasty and the service was good. . The desserts were excellent if you’re ever there. The mini cheesecakes are worth it for $1.99 each so so good. We had Cuban Rubens, which were ham, a homemade mustard with dill pickles, sliced on homemade dill pickle bread turned into a Panini. With a side salad - one was Greek, and the other one was Cesar The only complaint we had was the side salad the cost was 850 which we were expecting to be for we weren’t told the price had gone up

Sad but true but this beautiful restaurant is marred by poor customer service and underwhelming (to say the least) food. Long-term staff is unfriendly, unhelpful, defensive, if not downright rude which makes no sense if you want to increase your customer base with repeat business and free word-of-mouth advertising. Standard baked goods are beautiful and tempting, as are the lovely tea and coffee cups, pots and mugs and the large variety of teas/coffees for retail sale. What comes out of the kitchen lack imagination in terms of taste and presentation. Not that I'm into super-sizing my meals, but the portion sizes are a tad miserly...maybe it's to leave diners room for a slice o' pie or a brownie...who knows? If it's too busy, be prepared to be late for whatever you have planned next if you are there having a working lunch. And when the food does arrive (on a bad day...about an hour later), you may even have the experience of it arriving at your table stone cold. Hmmm...perhaps, kitchen staff tends to get overwhelmed by the lunch-time rush, or "chef" is battling it out alone? Once again...who rightly knows? The OBC takes pride in having a separate gluten-free kitchen but unfortunately, and most importantly THE GLUTEN-FREE BREAD is absolutely appalling!!! Remember the days, about 10 years ago or so when gluten-free bread was not exactly a supermarket feature (and only frozen) or available in specialty bake shops? Well that's what ya STILL get at the OBC in 2018. This stuff is heavy, crumbly and granular ... possibly good as building material but not fit for human consumption & to be avoided here at all costs! Hmmm...perhaps the "chef" and the "baker" need to take a couple of classes...upgrade their skills or something... And be warned, if yer a nobody, (because according to the owner ... name unknown as she didn't introduce herself to me when I had "trouble" with a meal...apparently EVERYBODY knows the gluten-free pies are 4 1/2 inches in diameter rather than the standard 9 1/2 / 10" size), make sure to negotiate (at your own risk) a larger size pie if you plan to share it with a family. The GF baked goods/pie ordering system seems to have been fixed (one time I ordered a GF pie and got a regular one), but this one unadvertised pie size issue remains. I s'ppose it helps to have yer ear to the ground in these parts... Now I'm the kinda gal who tends to cut folks some slack and I don't tend to complain that much about food/restaurants and lousy customer service, buuuut... boy oh boy, when I did finally speak up, the last time forever that I was here, this establishment demonstrated that they were not exactly keen on either listening and graciously accepting my concerns without being defensive and suggesting that perhaps I was the problem :-( . Maybe that long-term employee had a bad day or an anxiety issue or something? And yeah...everybody makes mistakes right? Or maybe I've just been unlucky or something when it comes to visiting this place or have been alive too long? I dunno, but pretty much every time I've been here that gal is STILL looks miserable and that stuff that comes out the kitchen still sucks to no end. The ONLY reason I'm giving this place two stars is because it's a beautiful space, the standard baked goods look yummy and the assortment of teas and tea drinking items is lovely. Such a pity, because this place could have SO much more going for it!!! P.S. My last visit was in October 2017, so perhaps at least the kitchen problem has...

I went to The Olde Bakery Cafe with my soon to be mother in law to order a cupcake display for my wedding. The ladies we dealt with were all wonderful (there were 3 throughout the course of the interaction). The baker who took our order was very accommodating! I had my own cupcake liners and we had already purchased a display which she said was fine. She took pictures of cupcakes I had pulled from online and was great about making sure what I wanted. Then to wrap things up she offered to do delivery and setup from Ingersoll to Delhi for a very reasonable price. All in we paid $410 for 112 cupcakes (12 were gluten and dairy free) and delivery and setup! I thought it was an amazing price considering prices I had received after shopping around.

The cafe itself is a wonderful little place to sit and have coffee, tea, desserts or even lunch. My soon to be mother in law and I left purchasing pecan butter tarts, lemon squares, and raspberry coconut squares that were all amazing! I don't even usually like pecan butter tarts, but the pecans had this great candied crunch that was delicious! I also purchased a coffee, which I embarrassingly spilled just after walking out the front door, and they offered to give me another one.

They also sell boxes of tea, loose leaf tea, gift mugs and teapots, and have and entire rack of gluten free baked goods.

The dark wood and quiet atmosphere reminded me if my Oma's. Warm and inviting! Highly recommend for ordering fir special occasions or just to pop in with a book or friend for a nice quiet morning...

The place is beautiful but the food and customer service sucks. I ordered 3 omelettes and 6 pancakes from this place on Jan 13 2024 for $60. When he told me the price I was surprised at first but then I thought maybe the quality was the reason it was expensive. When I got home with my order I found hair all over the pancakes. And it wasn’t just one piece it was a lot of small pieces in every pancake. Called the restaurant told them about it they said they will see what they can do just needed to return the order back to the restaurant. Took the order and my family to the restaurant so we can go eat over there and as soon as we go the restaurant you can tell they didn’t want to see me back there. They took my order to the back and pulled out some pieces of the hair then brought it back to me saying they couldn’t see any hair in the pancakes. We immediately asked for the manager and our refund. When the manager came we opened the containers and the pieces of hair were still inside. STAY AWAY it’s not worth the money or the stress and for a small business they need to do better. !!!!!!!!! THE FOOD IS SO BAD IT’S Not worth a one star...
