The Evergreen Coffee Lounge — Restaurant in Ingersoll

For a cafe that prides itself on art and inclusiveness, the atmosphere here is quite the opposite. My father is a respected patron at many Ingersoll restaurants and has lived there all his life. Imagine his surprise when the owner pressed him and some catty staff members accused him of taking photos of them...at a PUBLIC cafe...with ART on the walls...In this specific happening, art that belonged to a friend of his. Camera phones are common form at all cafes. From photos of drinks, to selfies, to people posting where they are on social media. If the staff are that sensitive and on edge, I suggest just posting a sign saying no pictures of the art. There was no probable cause for my father to be treated like this (he even showed the owner the pictures he took) and I am appalled at the way this was handled. Very...

When we came in we said good morning but nobody looked up or said anything. When we got to the counter we said good morning again, but again… nothing.. we had to wait 5 minutes at the counter and they know we were standing there. Staff didn’t look up or say anything. 1 one was wiping counters the other one was just standing there. After 5 minutes she finally came to the counter. We finally were able to order. We had high expectations due to the reviews. But hate to say it…the coffee tasted the same as at Tim Hortons only way more expensive. Way way way overrated and very overpriced place. I would say, train you staff properly (it’s not my fault they had to work) and get real coffee and not some water tasting “coffee”. I will never ever...

This place has allowed me to ditch my Starbucks habit and support a local, inclusive, and community-focused coffee shop. I love the poetry and art throughout the shop and the fact that they priortize using Canadian ingredients when possible - the fact that they offer vegan and vegetarian food options is great and I look forward to trying those.

They also have a wonderful space to read, work, or enjoy your beverage - this is something Ingersoll absolutely needs and I look forward to continuing to frequent this place - I encourage you to do the same if you want coffee in Ingersoll and want to...
