I read many reviews and decided it was worth a try. I'm not amazed as some people are, but it is good pizza. One gripe I have is the peperoni pizza was cooked with the peperoni under the cheese. Yuck. It makes the peperoni grease soak into the crust and it's all soggy and gross. Why in god's name would anyone do this is beyond me. I call a red card on this practise and demand it cease immediately. If there are some freaks of nature out there that prefer it this way, let it be an option. You can whisper to the server that you'd like the peperoni cooked under the cheese please. The roasted veggie pizza was great. Toppings on top and on point! Despite my rant about the peperoni injustice this is a good pizza place, I will come again. *UPDATE As many of you already know, one true test of a good pizza is if it is good cold, or reheated the next day. Yes, their pizza is good cold, the peperoni is alright cold, but this lead me to try it reheated. I decided to dissect a slice of the peperoni pizza so I could place it on top, because it's a topping, and see how it is proper. What I found under that cheese surprised me. The peperoni was one piece but covered the entire slice under the cheese. This is generous and guarantees that every bite of their peperoni pizza is full blown. However, I ripped it out a there, broke it up, put it on top, baked it then grilled it. I'm telling you it was a totally different pizza. Just my opinion, but a peperoni pizza with the peperoni on top would be a...
Read moreI'm so disappointed to give this place a 2-star rating. It showed so much promise and we expected so much more. Perhaps we will visit again next time we're through Invermere. It was very busy and our mouths were watering as the pizzas looked amazing as we were waiting. Unfortunately our dining experience was not that great. The most frustrating part was that the kids and my wife all ordered pop. The kids had root beer and my wife had a coke. All three were flat as flat can be. I mentioned that to the server and she came back with an explanation that quite frankly didn't make a lot of sense to me. Something about their ice maker being down and pop is less fizzy when warm? I've worked in restaurants before and have worked with the same pop dispenser and the ice in the tub shouldn't make a difference. The worst part is they still charged us for the three pops. As for the rest of the meal, the prosciutto-wrapped figs were overpriced in my opinion (though my own fault for ordering them). Then the pizzas were "okay." The crust was slightly undercooked as the top part of the crust was gummy and not baked all the way through. I ordered the reuben pizza with montreal smoked meat, sauerkraut and dill pickle. Judge me if you like, but it sounded like an interesting combination and I normally like Montreal smoked meat sandwiches, but it just didn't work that well on the pizza, which was one of their...
Read moreWe usually get our pizza from Hopkins Market, but we heard that Peppi's made very good pizza and thought it would be good to support the in town restaurant. We ordered the Quatro Stagioni and Italian pizza and sorry to say that it was average. The Quatro had little flavor and the Italian pizza had luncheon meat that one would find on a basic Subway sandwich. We expected much more for the price.
We have never been disappointed with Hopkins and going forward we will give them our business.
Comments on the owner response:
I have had Spolumbo's sausage many times and what was on the pizza was not at level of quality I have previously experience, and the pepperoni was also average. In my opinion both pizzas were of average quality which was not as described to us by...
