Bubble Time Tea & Waffles — Restaurant in Kamloops

My brother and I both went here today and ordered the same drink. Neither of us have been here in a couple of years. I got the same drink I always enjoyed when I have come in the past which is a strawberry smoothie with white pearls. My brother got the same after I told him how good it was and that it was my favorite drink there. Well, something has clearly changed since the last time I have been here. The drink had such a weak artificial taste to it whereas before it seemed like they used real strawberries. The biggest problem though was the fact that it seemed to taste more like caramel/brown sugar than it did strawberries. It was honestly the worst bubble tea I've ever had in my life. I'm not sure why it would taste like that? Maybe they used dirty machine equipment? I don't know. It wouldn't surprise me though if they did because after we ordered we sat down to "enjoy" our drinks. The one comfy couch seat wasn't occupied so we were going to sit there but quickly changed our mind after seeing how dirty it was. The other seats they have in the seating area are made of a white plastic that have a really bad dirty residue build up on them. I seriously don't think any of the seats have been cleaned in a long time. We got there only about an hour after they opened and there garbage was full and quite smelly. I don't think somebody took it out at the end of their shift the day prior.

Needless to say, I will not be back again. I do regret not asking for a refund, I was just too overwhelmed by how different everything was from the last time I was there. Very cool looking Bubble Tea spot. Tables with charging stations and another corner with board games and a couple more tables to enjoy a game while you sit down and drink your beverage. We were a party of five and placed our orders when there was no line up. The options were plentiful and everyone was quite excited for their drinks.. we were visiting as a kind of dessert treat. It worked out to about $9 a person and the drinks all looked and tasted good... except one. I'm not sure if the staff were new but one drink order was incorrect and the person I believe to be the manager tried to make it right but did not manage to fully catch all the incorrect boba when switching to a new cup... this could have been overlooked but while we had waited patiently for our drinks... about halfway through the completion of our order another customer walked in... ordered... and received their beverage before we received our order. I'm sure this happens from time to time but the combination of the large delay in receiving our order and then receiving the incorrect boba and then not completely fixing the issue definitely affected the quality of our visit. One of our littles wants to go back and try another drink... but if we do I will certainly not visit if I am...

Great first visit. Very large space and not busy on a Saturday afternoon. Plenty of seating available. There's bar seating with lots of outlets to recharge devices. There is only 1 washroom but it was large and clean. The staff also went around and wiped down tables in their downtime.

Ordered the Triple Top Milk Tea, which is Ceylon tea base with pearls, pudding, and grass jelly. Note the menu says it's only available in L size for $8.25. I ordered it but received a regular size drink. Apparently it can be ordered as a regular size and it's the same price.. so make sure you tell them you want large :) They exchanged it for a Large size for me no problem when I mentioned it. The drink was delicious and the pearls were perfect.
