Pacific Taco — Restaurant in Kamloops

Sadly……no one ever reached out to us or bothered to comment on this review…which says a lot to me.

First time visit (pickup). No acknowledgment when we came in. We had ordered two loaded nacho platters ahead and paid for them….one with coconut shrimp (extra cost) & extra pico de gallo (extra cost) and one with sweet pork. We requested mild and hot salsa and pineapple salsa. Ordered at 6pm, picked up at 6:15. Bag handed to us, again not at all friendly. We opened up our aluminum foil loaded nacho platter containers in the car. WTH? These are loaded nacho platters? Ice cold. No tomato salsas. No pineapple salsa. No sour cream. No guacamole. Maybe a tablespoon of refried beans on both. No extra pico de gallo which we paid extra for. Pork nachos had no pico de gallo and little pork. Three cut pieces of one large shrimp on shrimp nachos. No cutlery.

Husband went back into the store and requested our condiments, cutlery etc. Was given one sour cream, one pineapple salsa, one guacamole in very small dixie cup type containers. Staff member again barely acknowledged him, no appology, no thank you or goodbye. Husband tried 3 more times to get everything we wanted/paid for…staff member couldn’t seem to understand the issue. He left in total frustration. No one in the restaurant. A couple people on the patio. Restaurant needs cleaning and updating. Pineapple salsa was good. Needless to say…no tip, not returning, not recommending.

Too bad! We would have been regulars! We are new to the city and LOVE Mexican. Off to Casa Azul, Hacienda Cielito Lindo, Senor Froggies, and...

Unfortunately I found a small piece of hard, dark plastic in our burrito while chewing. Left with a minor tooth ache but could’ve easily broken my entire tooth on it (or worse).

We were here for lunch in late-June. When I showed the staff and owner the piece of plastic in our food, they did eventually give us a refund for the burrito but we had to ask for it after what felt like 5 minutes of awkward conversation. Kind of surprised they didn’t just offer us a refund immediately given what happened…

The staff did promise us that they’ll look into it to see what happened but I don’t think I’ll ever come back. It was a really strange thing to find in our food. I’m hoping they found out what happened and made some changes to their ingredient preparation process as it can be quite a dangerous thing to leave unchecked. Could easily cause more damage in the future (chipped tooth, choking, etc.) if they aren’t more careful.

Nothing against the restaurant. Food was decent, very reasonably priced, and staff were friendly overall. Hopefully if something like this happens again, they can be the ones who take the initiative to offer the customer a refund instead of waiting for the customer to ask for...

This is the third and last time I’m giving this place a chance. The first time I went there the server was very rude, which I did not mind because I understand they were about to close so I took it on me. Their washroom door was not working, and stinky. The second time I ordered the burrito bowl, the beans were uncooked and hard as rock, no flavour or anything, there washroom door was still not fixed so they advised us not to use their washroom which is a red flag for a restaurant . Today I was craving tacos so I ordered their shrimp coconut tacos, I paid extra for chimichuri, nothing was added. No sauce nothing, they gave me a flavourless tacos with some cheese with no sauce or anything. I will definitely not recommend. There are way better places for tacos in Kamloops, save your money and go to Hacienda or bar burrito the least. And if you want to go for a little drive go to tacos place in Cache creek instead,...
