Here's my first negative review in a long long time...I usually go to earls when I know I need to be catered to because in the past, I've found they go above and beyond...this particular experience wasn't the best because I was on a special diet (ordered by my doctor) and this is one of the few restaurants in town that I know can modify their food to fit just about any requirement. I specifically chose something from the menu that would not need much modifications to match my needs and I even explained the ingredients to the server that I could not have. She seemed a bit annoyed, and after working in restaurants for 10 years, I totally get it - but like I said, I chose specifically the restaurant and the menu item that would require the least amount of modifications - aka I was trying to have a nice meal out, while being the least amount of a pain as possible for the restaurant staff. She didn't seem knowledgeable on the food items as I asked if it contained certain ingredients that I could not have...fair enough, we're human. But the real shocker was that I received my side salad dish with the dairy ingredients I had specifically said I could not have...worse yet, when I pointed it out, she said she would get it remade then brought it back immediatelywith the dairy bits scooped off, but still not completely removed. If this was an error on my part, I would have totally understood - but in this case, there was no where on the menu for me to know these ingredients existed on the salad, nor did she inform me when I mentioned I'd like it as a side but couldn't have dairy... That just felt really uncared for, like I didn't matter as their guest. To top this whole experience off, I had ordered the full chicken & ribs combo, but she only brought me a half combo ๐ I ended up saying nothing after all this because I didn't want to be a pain ... Maybe I'm just used to the Earl's in places like Vancouver where they really go the extra mile. Either way, I'll likely go to Moxie's next time as their staff are a bit more mature and have always made me...
ย ย ย Read moreI want to thank you and your staff for your excellent service and the constant โcan doโ approach to satisfying customer needs. They truly make you feel so appreciated! Not to mention the fact when your server remembers all the little things you ask for. Coming to the food, the presentation was as awesome as the food was itself. Happy Hour is our FAV time to come, the crowds are less, not as loud and the food is perfect.
We get such great service coming in later and LOVE the happy hour menu as it has so much to offer and such great prices! Pizza , sushi, fries, burgers, all so good!
Some of the biggest "Thank You's" have to go to Samantha(night manager), Melissa, Alexis and Logan. They ALWAYS go above and beyond when serving us and always make us feel like valued customers.
Last night Samantha made the effort to come to our table as she remembers us as we come in every Friday night practically, and it made such an impact that she took the time to stop and say hi and make us feel recognized and appreciated. It was so nice. Logan was our server and truly went above and beyond and made sure everything was PERFECT!
Alexis also stopped by our table to say hi and see how we were as she knows us from previous visits also, and her bright and cheerful attitude go so far. She's amazing.
Melissa is also an incredible server. We've had her multiple times and we always request for her. Last night she wasn't working but she is amazing at what she does! Our visits are always beyond satisfaction and she has an incredible way with speaking to her customers. I can't rave about her anymore.
You have definitely won us as one of your permanent customers and I always love to recommend your restaurant to my friends and family. All the staff we have on our Friday nights really do go above and beyond and are so...
ย ย ย Read moreThe overall experience was okay. Reservations recommended especially during the weekend. The happy hour menu is worth it. I liked the red sangria and tried the pumpkin ale which was okay. The Aperol Spritz was watered down. Didn't really enjoy it. The margherita pizza for 7 dollars wasn't good. It was small and wasn't that tasty. The buffalo cauliflower for $11 tasted good. I liked the ranch dip. I just wish it was more crunchy. The garlic fries wasn't mixed well because of that some fries tasted bland. All the garlic was on the top. Bigger better burger was good. I would say it was worth the ๐ฐ. The spinach dip for $9 was very good. That was my favourite out of everything we ordered. And the portion size was good. This was the only dish that was big enough to be shared between 2 people. Every other dish served 1 person.
About the service. We felt like the hosts were not friendly towards us. A few hosts even ignored us and we had to stop the 3 host who passed us by and got her to show us to our table (we did make a reservation). The server also didn't spend much time with us. We felt like we were been rushed to order and also to leave.. because she just kept trying to clear the table even if we were in the middle of finishing out drinks ๐ we always had to place our orders with different servers because the assigned one to our table never really came to check on us. We felt really uncomfortable and especially when we were the only brown(Asian) customers in the restaurant and all the servers are Caucasian we couldn't even try to change our server. Maybe the restaurant should focus on increasing the diversity among their front house staff and not stick all the Asians to the kitchen. So guests like myself won't have to feel this...
