Corner Bites Eatery — Restaurant in Kawartha Lakes

Being new to the area I’ve been wanting to stop by this little place for a while. I’ve had local customers rave about the homemade baked goods from this little gem for a while so I quickly stopped by on my lunch to grab a few things to try. WOW it did not disappoint. I chose a savoury cheese scone and a pecan buttered tart. Out of this world! The scone was loaded with flavour and savoury which is a favourite of my husbands, being from Newfoundland, a lot of savoury goes into dishes so I knew I had to save him some and he was blown away at how delicious this was. The Pecan butter tart was probably the best I have tried in this area by far. Crust was flaky and buttery and the filling was unbelievable. Perfect consistency and I feel like it possibly had candied Pecans which gave it a delicious crunch. The lady behind the counter was so kind and full of personality and the prices were fantastic! I will definitely be back. Looking forward to checking out their menu and I will highly recommend my customers to give them a try when looking for a recommended...

My mom has just filled me in on a disturbing experience she had at this restaurant. While enjoying lunch with some of her work friends this young gentleman walks in with his resume in hopes to fill a position at this establishment (there was a help wanted sign in the window.) This young man struggled to speak English but was brave enough to give it a shot...Sadly the owner/cook/ whoever he is immediately shuts him down saying “ummmm I need people who can speak English” in an extremely rude & loud manner for everyone to hear. HOW EMBARRSSING! This poor young man is just trying to get by & you are going to blatantly shut him down & embarrass him?? I’m disgusted just HEARING about this... so here I am writing this review because I refuse to stand by & let ANYONE treat another human being like this.

We will never eat at this restaurant...

What a Great Little Restaurant. We had the special, Meatloaf Grill cheese with just the right amount of gravy and onions in amongst the cheese centre. I had the broccoli Ceasar salad nice take on an old stand by my friend had the regular Ceasar salad both were fresh and delicious. And prices are excellent.

I will also mention that washrooms were spotlessly clean with real paper towel. My final comment is one about the owners and staff, all super friendly this is what we always expect and hope for when we all visit a restaurant so Kudo to the owners and Staff you truely...
