We went to celebrate a birthday dinner on a Monday night. We made reservations to be on the safe side to ensure we got a large enough table for 8 people and that they would be prepared for a larger party. Hostess and Server greeted us kindly. We ordered the three kids food first and then ordered the 5 adult's meals after they went in. The kids meals all came out together which was great and then everything went downhill from there. Wings came out for one person, 5-10 mins later 2 more meals came out, and about 15 mins after that the last two meals came out. When the last meals came out we ordered the 3 kids ice cream, one with a brownie, to keep things moving along. They brought out the 2 prepackaged ice creams, but not the brownie one. 5-10 mins later, it finally came - who gives 2 out of 3 kids dessert when they all ordered some? It's not like there was any work to get the ice cream. They should have brought the 2 out with the brownie dessert. Then, half the party had to leave for soccer that they were already late for (they got the late dinner and dessert, and although we knew it would be tight, an hour and a half should have been sufficient time if they were running efficiently) but the Server assured us the birthday dessert was "coming right out". 5 mins later it still nothing so they left. It really put a damper on the whole experience. The Server kept apologizing saying it was her fault but did nothing to speed things up or to reduce their bill. Read moreTypically when my family and I want to go out for dinner, we’d go to Jacks more often than not. The food is pretty good and the staff are always really good. On December 31, we received coupons in the mail for a BOGO free lunch entree and my teenage daughter and teenage niece went to Jacks for lunch. After ordering their food and presenting the coupon, the waitress came back with the coupon saying the coupon was not valid, as instructed by the GM without giving a legitimate reason. The next day I went back and had a friendly conversation with the manager on duty as I wanted to inquire why they couldn’t honour the coupon. I wanted to give them the chance to make this right as the kids were embarrassed by what happened. The excuse that I was given was that Canada Post delivered the coupons a day early and that the valid date of the coupon was Jan 1. The coupon did not have a start date on it, only an expiry. Regardless, the coupon should have been honoured and it looks as though that management took advantage of my daughter and niece and made the petty decision to tell them that the coupon was no good. I addressed my concerns and frustration with management and they didn’t do anything to fix this, and I’m a regular. At the very least the kids should get an apology and free meal the next time the go in.., in a nut shell, food’s good, staffs good, but ownership and management are petty and unprofessional. Read moreHostess was amazing. Food was good. Server had an attitude and pretty much ignored our table the entire night. Never quality checked anything... pretty much threw take out containers at me. Never asked if the table was done, or wanted refills on drinks that sat empty for 30 ish minutes (that multiple servers walked past and ignored)... never asked if we wanted desserts. Guy who delivered the food just dropped it and said nothing. The manager was whispering in the semi full bar area, while a hockey game played full volume and people were cheering loudly.
The hostess was awesome, and noticed me getting upset (asked if there was something I needed, and got me the refill of beverage that I went the majority of my meal without)... to which the ignoring server finally appeared, only to tell me (again, with an attitude that would make your teeth grind)... that we're charging me for my refill, as because there are no free refills with any specials.
I will never recommend thos location to anyone... and genuinely l, the worst service I have ever experienced.
Another table heard the conversation to the manager and as they left, mentioned to our table the horrible lack of service.
