Crusty Pizza — Restaurant in Kawartha Lakes

I regularly bought pizza from here, after today I will no longer be going back due to poor hygiene practices in conjunction with an employee who doesn't see the necessity of this as a food handler. I happened to pull up to Crusty's the same time an employee was entering in after being outside or at the neighboring store. He walked in with me and immediately went to the cash register and took my order. Following this, I was expecting he would head to the sink and wash his hands. I let this play out and surely enough the unclean hands are on the food moments later. This is when I said, "Not to be a jerk, but you came from outside, dealt with cash and are now making my pizza." A normal person would accept defeat at this point, he decided to try and tell me several lines"Well my hands are clean, it's not like I was smoking", "Well if you ordered delivery, you wouldn't know and what you don't know doesn't hurt you", "the oven kills everything you know" and lastly the sarcastic "Well, do you want me to wash my hands now?". What happened to Crusty Pizza??? When they first came to Fenelon they were awesome. Not only did they taste good, the price was right. I have given my money to them at least a half dozens times thinking; a busy day or a new person making the pizza or maybe I should have chosen different toppings. I have made some many excuses for them. But NO! The pizza is now tasteless. Not enough sauce, not cheese, topping etc etc. In this economy, paying for take out/ delivery is a very big treat. When you get less than sub-par food you feel that you might as well, open their door, throw your money in and walk away without anything and starve! Shame shame.
