This Hidden Lil Gem is hidden in the heart of Lindsay behind the Square Mall. If you haven't tried this place, then you are missing out! The Restaurant is a bit dated with its appearance, however the service was excellent and friendly. The food where do I start, Salisbury Steak was great, the different types of flavors on the plate was worth the wait. Mashed potatoes were really not chunky or liquidity just perfect. Alfredo (sorry son wouldn't let me take a photo) Was homemade sauce thick noodles comfort food at its finest. Lasagna I have high standards for this & this met with them even went slightly over them. Best in Ontario! The sauce to noodles were on key, the cheese Omg the taste mixed with the perfect amount of spices were pairing hypothesis. The temperature was hot like steam with each mouth full. Every bite was delightful & brought you to wanting more. The taste was luscious ... Great cooking is about being inspired by the simple things around you — fresh markets, various spices, people and taste Hats off to the Chefs that made tonight's food. Dessert was successful the moment you close your eyes and really taste the flavors. Great Baker ... I would give the restaurant 5 stars, but the bathroom was your only downside do the ceilings and give me an invite back it will be worth 10 stars . Large Quantity, Excellent Quality Fair time, Great prices, Great location Great. Thanks for the scare & Laughs tonight!

I keep coming back to this place because it makes me feel comfortable. When I called today to check for availability, the lady on the line was so warm and welcoming. "You betcha, see ya soon!" We arrived and they had us reserved for upstairs, but my Mom has a walker so they quickly cleaned a nearby table and got us seated. Great first few minutes! Now for the food. Homemade everything! The mashed potatoes were like my Mom just made them right there! The turkey gravy was downright drinkable! The chicken parmesan was viking sized! My sister is enjoying her second helping as I type this. Our server was so attentive, and used phrases like "you're most certainly welcome" and "my pleasure". I will update my review after I get her name because she deserves credit! It's just a really great place to go and eat. My Mom lives in Lindsay and we try to go here each time we visit. The owner's are clearly doing it right, and it shows in the staff and the food. Well done! Edit; Thanks so much for replying! Please extend my thanks to Jean and her wonderful service! When I got the mini peach blueberry pie home I popped it in the oven for a short time to warm it up. Let me just say I couldn't even speak the entire time I was eating it. The peaches were so fresh, the blueberries popped and there was a creamy, tart filling surrounding the fruit. Out of this world!

My mom & I have been here quite often; we had used to come here shortly before I started dating my boyfriend a couple years ago (I haven’t been with Him yet though, Next week, we shall. Around my Birthday then perhaps.) They have a regular menu, and Also, a Gluten Free menu! And “All-Day Breakfast”! Yum. Here’s a couple pictures I’ve got from a bit far-back in my camera-roll on my phone (actually turned out to be within the last couple years). A downfall of this place: Their lighting. It’s fairly dark in the restaurant, with..floors lights? I think...anyways, it’s dark, and not particularly complimentary unfortunately. It’s in a good, local spot. Right near the town of Lindsay “Mall”. There’s a driver’s testing nearby, so it could be a good Gluten Free spot for people coming from areas like Toronto. Except for the lighting. My guess is it’s because they get a lot of Seniors as their customers, by what I’ve noticed.

Worst restaurant ever! 3 different visits, 3 horrible experiences. First experience: Went in casual clothing, for dinner. The server looked up head to toe multiple times, before even turning to seat us. She treated us horribly for the entire meal. Second experience: Went in for an early dinner with a family member. The restaurant was basically empty. It still took 5 minutes before a server took our order. Right after she put it in, someone she recognized came in, and she chatted with them while taking their order. They happened to order the same thing we did. When our food was ready, it was served to their table, despite them arriving well after us. If it had been a different meal, with a shorter cook time, I could understand, but it was the exact same meal! The final straw: I decided to try breakfast, because clearly dinner service was a failure. I asked to substitute cheesy home fries for regular home fries on one of the menu items. All that was required was to add cheese. I said that I understood if it cost extra, and was more than happy to pay. I was told that that was in no way possible. If I wanted the cheesy home fries, I would need to order the breakfast that included them. The problem was that one of the items in that breakfast was baked beans, something I am allergic to. I agreed to the listed breakfast, but said it was imperative that the baked beans not be added, due to an allergy. She said that would be no problem. When I got my breakfast, baked beans were poured over EVERYTHING! My toast, my homefries, my eggs. When I mentioned it to the server, she rolled her eyes, and got a side plate, slammed it down next to me, and told me to scrape it off.

One bad experience could be someone having a bad day. The second could be someone pandering to a friend. The third one had no excuse. I will never go to this restaurant again, and I will proactively tell EVERYONE I know how horrible it is. The day it closes will be the best...

Starting off, we tried to go to the restaurant through the mall entrance but were locked out with a plant in the doorway. We had to knock on the door and the waitress let us know yes, they were open, she just didn't open that door. Ok. Our waitress was very friendly, not very attentive (and we don't mind that. We don't want to be bothered every second of our visit. However we understand some people would want a little more attention) we came in for breakfast. My husband ordered the western omelet, I ordered the breakfast platter. After a very long wait, our food arrived. Well, mine did. They gave my husband a western sandwich. He didn't get any home fries and obviously didn't order it as a sandwich. We didn't say anything because unfortunately the waitress just never came back. So he just ate it. My scramble eggs were soaking wet. They were almost like egg soup and the rye toast (they charged us .20 cents extra) were so drenched in butter that we had to squeeze them out. I had to salt my eggs because they were very bland and I never salt my food. The entire place is trapped in the 80s. The wallpaper is...wow. but as someone that has trouble seeing in low light, I was eating in the dark on this one, litterally. It was so dark in this place. It's cheap enough, but even for the price we paid ($35 +tip) it still wasn't worth that price. I would rather spend another $10 and go somewhere else. Overall it just wasn't worth it.

Also, to add. I saw a person review just before me about coming after I had been there. I was that for 9am and they claim to come around 10:45am. They note that the place didn't have change. I paid in cash! So I don't understand how all of a sudden they didn't have enough to give another customer change. Very very...

This used to be a regular spot for my grandparents, my mum, and I when I was a small fry about 25 years ago. High quality food, made with love, for rock bottom prices. Stopped by for the first time since around 2000 in 2016, and everything was just the same, a refreshing delight in a world where things are always getting worse. Stopped by again a few weeks ago with my other half, and talk about a tale of two cities!

New owner have taken over as of about a year ago, and although they made no changes to the decor, which most people would probably say they should, but I hope they don't as it's like walking into 1985 in the best way possible. Unfortunately, it does appear that they've made changes to their food. Now, I thought that my turkey club sandwich with fries and onion rings on the side was actually quite good. However, my other half who had the fish and chips was very disappointed. The fish appeared to be frozen box fish from a grocery store, was very flat, and had more breading than fish. Furthermore, the vinegar they gave her to put on her french fries appeared to be sour, and made the meal, on the whole, taste rather unpleasant. Based solely on my dining experience I would recommend them, but I would be cautious. Based on her experience, she wouldn't recommend them at all. So if you're in the area and you're looking for a real blast from the past, I suggest you give this place a chance, but you temper your expectations.

Also, a soft drink is $5. I know that that's supposed to be a money maker for most places, but that price is...
