On April 11th, 25 we attended Boomers. It was a very nice day and as we approached the restaurant, we noticed an unoccupied table on the patio. It was the only open table, no one was sitting at it. It was two tables pushed together, it easily could have been two tables for four each, or as set up, it was a table for six. I went inside the restaurant and asked at the bar if it’s ok to take an open table. There was a server and the bartender present. They both said yes. I went out and sat at the table. Another gal came and apologized that the table needed cleaning. She wiped the table and removed two empty beer bottles, two half full bottles and an empty plate. She told me my server will be right out. I thanked her. Shortly thereafter, she returned with two men. The men sat at the table and the gal told me I couldn’t sit there as the table belonged to these men. One of the men was a bit rude, so, not wanting confrontation I got up and went into the restaurant. My wife arrived at this point. I told them this wasn’t ok. I was offered a table inside and they apologized. The restaurant inside was very loud/noisy. I didn’t want an inside table; besides, how would I know that any other table offered wouldn’t end up the same way? I told the bartender that I’m not ok with how they are handling this. The excuse given is that the men went for a smoke. They abandoned the table. No coat, no food at the table, it appeared empty/abandoned by whomever had used it last. If the men had just gone for a smoke, why was I given permission to sit there, why was the table cleared for me, and why was I told a server would be with me shortly? Additionally, why weren’t the two tables separated to accommodate everyone? We spoke to a server and the bartender and when we asked to speak to a manager, they called her, but she never did come to talk to us. She was busy with another table. I speculate something was wrong there too. It seems they were too busy to provide appropriate service. Beware, if you go to dine there, you may be asked to vacate your table? We chose to leave because of how this was handled. It seems there are challenges with staff/service here. (None of the staff identified themselves and there were...
Read more0 star: NHL Stanley cup last Playoff game: First time at this establishment, a sports bar connected to an ice Arena, with a dozen TV screens in it, on the very last NHL Stanley Cup playoff game. We sat down and we had no service at all for 15 minutes, so dehydrated for water or drink I actually went to the bar With 3 girlfriends. Waitress told all of us to go sit down to our table and not stand in front of the bar. I told her we're very dehydrated we need a drink or some water but her table. And we also like to order some wings. She said I'm going to bring you drinks first we need to sit down and food maybe come later. Halfway through the first period we finally got our drinks. No water. And she delivered all the drinks through the other end of the table where strangers were sitting. They had to pass them all to us. I had to borrow half a cup of water off strangers cause we never did get water or menus or food. So disappointed in a place that is actually a real sport bar connected to an ice Arena and he would think The very last game of the playoffs they would have more than two waitresses. So cheap that they can't afford one or two more waitresses for a couple hundred more dollars to keep better service throughout. There were elderly people in their 70s sitting there with no drinks or food. The waitress was terrible. I couldn't even tell her I needed water she just walked away. I will never ever go back to this establishment ever again, I was so disappointed we all were. We all put cash on the table to pay our bill and left to Rusty's , where we received all that in 10 min and the be was packed as well. I can't give a star for food because we didn't receive any, I'll give one star for service to be nice and 2 stars for atmosphere! But I will never return here ever again. This pub should be ashamed of themselves, claiming to be a sport bar on a playoff night and can't even serve the people that are there to have a great...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a great place for Bar and grill foods. You have to stop in. Boomers (lol I’m 42 so thought it was an awesome name)
Popped in got to meet Damon our server. The young man was amazing. Funny and helpful altogether.
Chazz got our drinks really fast and poured to the top like I like it. Good bartender.
We got the poutine, wings and cauliflower bites. Plus some beers and shots.
The cooks Dayton and Davinder cooked us up some awesome bar foods.
Poutine was fantastic. Dark thick gravy and a ton of cheese curds. Quebecers would appreciate this.
Wings were (and to my friends disbelief) cooked just right and with the perfect amount of seasoning. I told him I tried them before and liked them so he gave it a shot. And I won lol.
I don’t like to hot and cauliflower. So I only tried one of the cauliflower bites. And as it says. It was frigging hot and well yes cauliflower. It was actually pretty good texture wise. I liked the cauliflower but the hot. Not for me. But my friend said it was awesome. So I’ll go with his advice.
Come to the convention to see something cool. Come to boomers to meet some awesome locals and get some...
