Disappointing Safety Standards at My Former Starbucks
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
I have been a loyal customer at this particular Starbucks location for over four years, but recent events have compelled me to share my disappointing experience. Previously, I would visit the store daily, often purchasing multiple drinks. However, a series of concerning incidents has led me to sever my ties with this establishment.
Several days ago, I noticed a broken-down vehicle parked in the Starbucks parking lot. To my shock, I discovered that a man had been living inside it. Over the course of three to four days, the situation worsened. The vehicle was lifted onto blocks, shopping carts with miscellaneous items were strewn about, and, incredibly, I even came across a weapon—a spiked piece of wood. Fearing for my safety and that of my children, I approached the Starbucks associates to address the issue.
To my dismay, the associates informed me that they had indeed contacted a towing company but had received no response. Curious about this inconsistency, I decided to contact the towing company myself. Astonishingly, they had no record of any call from Starbucks, yet they promptly removed the vehicle upon my request.
This morning, as I entered Starbucks to grab my usual morning drink, I was met by the manager. To my surprise, she became visibly upset upon recognizing me as the person who called the towing company. Her explanation left me dumbfounded—the manager confessed that she had allowed the individuals living in the vehicle to stay in the parking lot because she deemed them "nice people."
The implications of this revelation are deeply troubling. Allowing individuals to sleep in the parking lot of a Starbucks location, where heroin use, weapons possession, and the establishment of a makeshift camp had occurred, raises serious safety concerns. This not only endangers customers but also the employees themselves. Such lax practices set a dangerous precedent and foster an environment that is far from the welcoming atmosphere one expects from Starbucks.
Regrettably, I can no longer endorse this Starbucks location. The disregard for customer safety and the tolerance of potentially hazardous situations have left me with no choice but to find an alternative coffee shop. It is my hope that Starbucks addresses these issues promptly and takes the necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of their customers and employees.
I urge anyone considering this particular Starbucks to proceed with caution. Your safety should never be compromised, and it is disheartening to see a trusted brand failing to prioritize the security of...
Read moreI've never actually been to this location but I just wanted to share my perspective on why Sally's grievence regarding soy milk is unjustified. If one is requesting a drink based of soy milk, they should know that one cannot get soy milk that is non-fat or "skinny". That is a dairy thing, there is nothing to skim in soy milk because soy milk is constituted simply of ground up dried soy beans in water (some sweetener may be added, but sucrose is not fat). The only fat content in soy milk would be the layer which encoats the seeds within the beans, and that fat content becomes miscible with the water portion in the final soy milk mixture. The main point I'd like to make here is this: if you are requesting a service or a product from somewhere, you should know what it is that you are requesting; and if you do not know what it is, you should either research it on your own or ask the person who is offering the service or product. It is only fair to do this because, in the service industry, one of the worst things to deal with is entitled people who don't know what they want. Now, it's okay to know what you want and feel entitled to the service you're paying for; and it's especially okay to not know what you want, recognize your ignorance, ask questions, and learn. I would suggest that Sally practice the latter first so that she may justifiably...
Read moreI don't generally go to Starbucks due to the cost but was treating a friend today.
Went to the drive-thru located at the corner of Highway 97 and Leathead Road in Kelowna, BC and was greeted by one of the friendliest voices that I have heard in a long time. The female taking our order was awesome! As we reached the window to pay for our order, the young man passing us our drinks noticed that we had our two small dogs with us and asked if they would like a "pupaccino". Not knowing what that was (again we don't get out much) he explained and we gratefully accepted, much to our dogs' delight.
It was so nice to deal with great people with such awesome energy for our first excursion since the...
