Slightly expensive, but very friendly staff and the atmosphere is super cozy. I would have given this a 4 star review, however they got rid of their free wifi service, giving the excuse that they are too small to offer wifi. They used to offer it and yes, people did stay for the wifi, but a cafe is a classic spot to sit quietly while working or checking email - having wifi at any eatery is always a bonus. For a coffee shop, it's almost needed. People come in on their breaks and want to be able to tend to personal affairs through email or other personal sites. Another common use is online banking, I can't recall the number of times I've needed to go online to deal with banking issues while I've been at a merchant.
It's unfortunate HoJos felt the need to shoo away all the wifi "free-loaders" and it's one of the reasons I stopped buying my coffee here. There is a quant cafe just around the block that offers wifi and has gained my loyalty all thanks to this decision...

Extremely dissatisfied. My wife and I went there to do some work... Ordered a tea and looked for a spot... Only one outlet in the whole place...
"No problem, we'll just sit there" we thought.
Within seconds of sitting down, the owner rushed over and told my wife harshly that, "we don't provide power to customers... Those are for the Christmas lights"
The Christmas lights weren't on... And there was an extra outlet even at that.
"ok.... I guess we'll just stay until our batteries run out" we thought.
Shortly after that realized they didn't have WiFi either.
Since going there I've come across several other people who had similarly bad experiences (e.g. Getting kicked out after an hour). Clearly not a place they want people hanging out... Get your coffee and go, or else!
Back to Tim Hortons I guess? Personally I'd rather support small businesses... At least ones that appreciate...
Read moreThere were no prices listed on the board so when the panini I ordered turned out to be $15.50 I expected it to be pretty good. It was the simplest thing I've ever eaten at a cafe. I asked why on their website this panini is listed for $7.50 and they said that's wrong and it's because it comes with chips, dip and a pickle (I hadn't noticed the sign that said all sandwiches come with this because it wasn't on the menu I ordered from ...
The chips were definitely the Noname gross ruffles and not great dip either. The panini itself shouldnt even cost $7.50 and why on earth a few gross chips, dip and a pickle should bring the price up 8 whole dollars, I have no idea. I have eaten so many places and this is one of two times I ever complained about food. I gave them their chance to redeem themselves but they just...
