As the Easter long weekend approached, I found myself drawn to the vibrant city of Montreal, eager to explore its culinary delights. Among the myriad of restaurants recommended by locals, Aya stood out with its promise of Lebanese modern cuisine, adorned with exquisite decor and boasting a welcoming ambiance. Intrigued by my cousin's glowing praise, I embarked on an epicurean adventure to discover the essence of Aya.
Upon stepping through the doors of Aya, I was warmly greeted, setting the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The spacious interior exuded an air of elegance, inviting patrons to indulge in the culinary treasures that awaited. As someone who values transparency and honesty in culinary critique, I approached each dish with an open mind and discerning palate.
For starters, our table was adorned with an array of tantalizing appetizers, including tabouleh, hummus with meat, fried cauliflower, garlic potato, sujouk, and cheese rolls. The tabouleh, bursting with freshness and vibrant flavors, captivated my taste buds from the first bite. Similarly, the fried cauliflower proved to be a revelation, boasting a perfect balance of crispiness and tenderness. While the cheese rolls are delighted with their savory filling, the garlic potato and hummus with meat fell short of expectations, lacking the depth of flavor and texture I had hoped for. However, the zaatar fries emerged as a standout, elevating the culinary journey with their aromatic seasoning and irresistible crunch.
Moving on to the main course, we savored the succulent filet mignon and the flavorful shish taouk. The filet mignon, cooked to perfection, melted in my mouth with each indulgent bite, while the shish taouk delighted with its tender juiciness and aromatic spices. Each dish showcased the culinary prowess of the kitchen, leaving a lasting impression on my palate.
As the evening progressed, we were treated to a selection of delectable desserts that further enhanced our dining experience. From traditional favorites to innovative creations, each dessert is captivating with its impeccable presentation and exquisite flavors, providing the perfect conclusion to our culinary journey.
Yet, amidst the gastronomic delights that adorned our table, it was the impeccable service provided by Ali that truly elevated our experience. His extensive knowledge of the menu, unwavering professionalism, and genuine warmth left a lasting impression, ensuring that every need was met with grace and efficiency.
In summation, Aya Restaurant offers a culinary journey through Lebanese modern cuisine, where every dish tells a story of tradition, innovation, and impeccable craftsmanship. While some dishes may falter in execution, the overall experience is elevated by the welcoming ambiance, exquisite decor, and exemplary service. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for culinary artistry, Aya earns five stars for service and four stars for food, cementing its place as a must-visit destination for discerning diners...
Read moreOne of the best restaurants to dine at in Montreal and it’s located on the West Island. Ample Parking. Our table was waiting for us when we arrived before 19h00. Staff provided menu’s that are available in English & French; filled our water glasses and did not “Hover” while we decided on a before dinner drink and the appetizers we wanted to start with. Although no nightly specials, which aren’t necessary; our waiter took the time to describe the various dishes we inquired about to help us with our selection. We started with the Fatouche Salad, Grilled Octopus & Grilled Cauliflower that were all wonderfully prepared & very tasty. We were so pre-occupied with our starters &!drinks we forgot about ordering our “Mains”! Our Waiter happily appeared while we were 1/2 way finished with the starters and our orders were placed. The Chicken Kebab Platters were ordered as well as the Beef (minced) Kebab Platter and a side order of their French Fries that are not to be overlooked. Tasty, Delicious and Exceptionally prepared is how you will enjoy these mains if you share. Bright, Airy with a “Vibrant” noise level from the other diners who were there. But the tables are not “on-top” of each other where at some establishments you literally “Rub Elbows” with the diners at the next table. Thanks to Ricky & His Staff who all helped make this evenings dining a really memorable experience @ all for the right reasons! Definitely on our list for many...
