I just had the absolute pleasure of visiting the brand-new Arahova in Kirkland, and let me tell you—I am beyond thrilled! This place is already buzzing with energy, and it’s only been open a few days! By lunchtime, the restaurant was packed, proving that Arahova’s reputation for authentic Greek flavors is as strong as ever. If you’re craving a taste of the Mediterranean, this spot is an absolute must-visit, whether you're grabbing a quick takeout meal or settling in for a full sit-down experience.
Arahova serves up a mouthwatering selection of Greece’s most beloved dishes, each made with top-quality ingredients and packed with rich, traditional flavors. Start with a variety of classic dips—tzatziki, spinach dip, cheese dips, and the irresistible taramosalata—before diving into hearty favorites like juicy pork and chicken souvlaki, flavorful gyro doner, and savory, rice-stuffed dolmades. And let’s not forget about the golden, flaky pastries! Indulge in spanakopita, tiropita, and kreatopita, or treat yourself to the comforting layers of moussaka, a decadent combination of eggplant, seasoned ground meat, and creamy béchamel sauce.
To celebrate this exciting new location, my friend Mike Cohen and I stopped by for a feast. We were both in the mood for something hearty—what you might call a "loose meat" kind of day. Mike went with the chicken gyro plate, a generous serving of perfectly marinated, spit-roasted chicken served over fragrant rice with a side of crispy golden fries. Of course, no Arahova meal is complete without their famous tzatziki sauce—cool, garlicky, and downright addictive, it brought everything together beautifully.
I, on the other hand, couldn’t resist the doner platter, featuring 100% seasoned beef shaved fresh from the rotisserie. The juicy, flavorful meat was served alongside thick-cut steak fries and a crisp, refreshing salad, creating the perfect balance of textures and flavors. Each bite was as satisfying as the last!
And while we visited at lunchtime, the dinner menu offers even more to indulge in! Imagine sizzling grilled lamb chops, tender rib steaks, and juicy chicken brochettes. Not to mention an expanded appetizer selection with delicacies like briny Kalamata olives, crispy spanakopita, and tender, golden-fried calamari. Strategically located, this new Arahova outpost is a game-changer for the West Island.
Whether you’re in Kirkland, Beaconsfield, Pointe-Claire, or Pierrefonds, you can get there in 10 minutes or less—making it the perfect spot for both loyal Arahova fans and first-timers eager to experience the magic.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, what are you waiting for? The flavors of Greece are calling, and Arahova is ready to serve up an unforgettable meal! -mtlrestorap.com (Mike Cohen and...
Read moreI'm not one to write 1 star reviews but where do i even start. We really love encouraging new local restaurants but there's no way i will be stepping foot back at this restaurant.
Let me start with the service, the guy who served us was nice but lacked major training, we literally had to repeat our choices about 4 times each even though he was taking notes. We waited an hour and 10 minutes for the food to arrive, the table next to us was in the same boat as well. An hour 10 minutes for 1 souvlaki kids plate to arrive.. an extra 15 minutes for the rest of the plates to arrive and that includes the calamari which was supposed to be an entrée, we also ordered a tatziki entrée that never came but at this point we were starving and already pissed that we just didn't mention it.
The food was not bad but it definitely doesn't deserve over an hour of wait. The server who according to their instagram is the owner didn't seem to care. We literally had to remind him after receiving the first plate that the rest of the food was missing and his reply was oh there's still plates you ordered? um yes there's more than just 1 kid plate for a table of 5. Forget the water we asked twice for him to finally come refill. The table next to us decided to ask for their tab and so did us, 20 minutes later ingot fedup of waiting for my bill and went to the pick up counter and asked to pay. The owner didn't provide a single apology it's like all this was normal service to him.
It's a shame because we love encouraging local but this specific Arahova restaurant won't last more than a year unless they get major training or they change owners. It's been a long time that i haven't received such mediocre service...
Read moreFirst time coming and recommended by a friend. The service is good. Chef Mike is a good server and chef. He even chatted with me and my invitee. He was friendly and recommend us the specials. God Bless you for that.
The food for dine-in one was very small for me and I am surprised that they serve it like a fast food style. We did not see a lot of people eating inside this day. Even when it’s dinner time maybe it depends on the time and day.
Even though the location is good the interior is nice and the restaurant is nice outside and out, the food is subpar and the food is lacking a little bit seasoning for me. The sauces Chef Mike gave was good and he gave me his favorites.
The price was a little much for me too.
In the end, I may or may not return. I appreciate the service and decor but for me I was 50% satisfied after the meal.
Still God Bless the employees and the people there and loyal customers. In God we trust.
